Got takeout. We’ve gone to Rangoli for a few decades now first in Santa Clara and from the change of millennium to San Jose location. Haven’t been there much in last few years. This time they got one dish -wrong (we ordered chicken but got a spinach dish). We were okay with this. Mistakes happen — but all the food was drenched in oil. I tried to salvage one dish by removing maybe 10 tablespoons of pooling oil but it was still ridiculously oily. Unfortunately so was the spinach. Everyone felt
Sick after eating a little and we threw away the rest (majority) of The food. Wont go back. Not sure if the family that owned originally has sold it or the woman who really seemed the driving force in Santa Clara and even the well meaning kid who was lead for this location when they owned (he’s got to be in his 40s at least so that’s not a fair description) are now out of picture
Crew behind counter different who I saw before.
Recipes are mostly similar but chicken seems bland just cooked or boiled no seasoning. Just crazy amounts of oil for curries etc and maybe the fryer temperature also wrong. Can’t be cheaper to cook this way so hard to understand why it is devolved like this.
We got takeout for four people for dinner. The curry/ sauce was really good but overall we all did not have that much protein. Also, my shrimp had the tails on so I find that very annoying to eat. Two of the meals did not come with rice and the other two did so that was a bit confusing.
The workers are very kind and nice and the interior was clean and spacious. Parking was very easy.

This place used to be the go to Indian for me until these last couple of years. The quality of everything has noticeably decreased.

When you order and are asked spice level and say hot and your food is labeled and tastes mild, that’s not right. If I ask for hot, give me hot. What the heck is wrong with you??? You failed tonight Kiran.
Sadly, there is no longer a buffet.
There food is good. Really loved their lunchtime buffet. It was a good meeting place, group place. They must have recently stopped it, so I haven't gone since. We live in Los Gatos, so I like Namaste better if it's not a buffet.

Holy sweet. It seems like they added sugar to the dishes which was an unwelcome surprise.
Maybe some people like their Indian food sweet but that's certainly not what we prefer.

Just not satisfied. See for your self. Need more attention when customer walk in. food is really not that good . I like curry and in dia food. This place need professional help.
We arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday, and were literally the only guests. Bottom line: the food was surprisingly gross…I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, spicy. It was very mild and VERY sweet (think maple syrup). Had a little bit of trouble getting the server’s attention to closeout and pay. The bill was over $40 for 2 below average curries, rice, and samosas. Oh but the samosa and green sauce was perfectly fine!
The food is tasty and well cooked. The reason for the 3 star rating is I think it's very expensive. Cost of our meal for 5 (without any drinks) was over $150. The atmosphere is very sterile. This is not a place I would frequent regularly mainly based on cost.
I order my samosa and I call 3 times. I need my order ready when I arrive. But my order not ready and girl very uncooperative and panic with chef also
Very yammy buffet lunch
