A few times I have noticed "customers" walk out without paying for their groceries. Don't think anything is being done about it and the more it happens, the more are encouraged to do so until it turns into a place that is not safe for shoppers.

This store can learn a thing or two about customer service. No one is ever available to serve you at the deli & when someone finally shows up they're not happy about it. No smiles, no courtesies, no professionalism, & no gratitude for having a job. This is consistent with every visit. Nob Hill on Santa Teresa, on the other hand, consistently has bright, cheerful, personable & caring employees, not only ready to serve you at the deli (without waiting) but throughout the store including their long-term cashiers. I go to Safeway because it's closer to home but Nob Hill has it all over Safeway when it comes to customer service. It's obvious Nob Hill has put their staff through customer service training while Safeway has not. To be fair, Safeway's bakery far exceeds Nob Hill's (but Safeway's bakery employees are consistently grumpy).

I really like this Safeway as I am living very close by and the staff here are always friendly and they are very helpful to assist me t get what I need. Also, I found this location has more items on the shelf available to choose from than other store. The only thing not too complete is I found there are many multi cultural product available in the store. But over all, it has been a pleasure to shop here.

Johnny in the meat department is the best! Phenomenal customer service! I will be coming here every time because of him. Thanks again!

This is a great grocery store with everything you could want and more. The prices are also very competitive. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The produce is always fresh and the meat selection is top notch. The store is also very clean and well-organized.I'm always impressed with the quality of the products at Safeway. The staff are also very knowledgeable and always happy to help. I would highly recommend this store to anyone.

Decent safeway with a lot of selection. The bakery at this location is better than others in terms of taste. Prices are a bit higher than TJs but I live down the road so its convenient.

I love the variety of products at Safeway. From the organic produce to the international food section, there's something for everyone. The staff are also always friendly and helpful.

I like shopping at Safeway, but sometimes it can be hard to find certain products. The staff are always willing to help, though, which is a plus.

I don't understand why the guy who works in the customer service department was placed there. He does not have a friendly attitude nor vibe. I dread going there whenever I have receipt issues. Half of the time, he assumes the wrong cause(s) for the issue, blames the customer for the problem, and says that there is nothing he could do. Most recently, he did this exact thing and then just immediately went straight to the next customer. Seriously, why is this guy here is this department? Why?I ended up seeking help from Safeway's online customer service. They were much more friendly and helpful than him.

I gave 2 stars because I love getting my groceries here especially with their drive up and go, usually Sam or Rachel does my orders and they do a fantastic job I usually place my orders in the morning because I know Sam would be able to do them and they do such a fantastic job. Everything on my list is there and if not they would always call to make sure I got the right item if my original choice wasn't in stock. I love it but lately I've been getting other shopper and it is not even close to the standards I'm used to. Recently I've been noticing that soaps like detergent or dish soaps are bagged with other groceries there's been several times where my detergent was bagged with my produce and I've had to refund the items just in case of contaminations. I've had several times where my produce or bread was crushed because heavier boxes or cans were put right on top of it or where one of my bags are so over packed it crushed some of my items. There's a shopper there his name is Dennis he's done my order a couple of times and I don't ever get a call from him about my missing items, matter of fact there's been several occasions when my wife found it in the store herself whenever she had to come in the store to pick up a couple more things. This other shopper who is female I believe her name was Sarah, I'll get a call about my substitutions once in a blue moon from her. Most of the time the substituted items aren't even close to what I wanted, for example my wife placed an order a couple weeks ago, we ordered several boxes of barilla mini farfalle to make some pasta for our family gathering pot luck and we're open to substitutions but this lady substituted "barilla ditalini" it's not even close to a bow tie shaped, ditalini is used for mainly potato salads my wife was livid thankfully Sam was able to help us to switch it to signature select farfalle and refund us the difference in price, they had the signature select brand this entire time why would she pick ditalini? Lord knows but that's just one of the times she's messed up on our substitutions. Another issue is her body odor, I don't want to sound rude but I know for a fact in every employees hand book there's a section where employees must be presentable and clean, thank god she rarely takes out our order but everytime we're not able to place an order and we go into the stores we dread passing by her. I don't mean to sound awful but as employees you're expected to represent your company, and I have complained to their manager a couple of times but it seems nothing has changed. I know for a fact I haven't been the only person who has complained or brought this issue up it just seems like whoever is in charge of cottle road doesn't have a single ounce of f*ck when it comes to customers complaints so I decided maybe leaving a review could actually put some ounce of care because I do love coming here I know this is just a case of a couple rotten apples in the basket but their drive up and go is such a helping hand to me and wife due to the fact we have new born twins and personally It's so difficult to push a stroller and a cart while shopping.

The manager informed me that we are unable to fulfill my online order for a lobster tail for pickup. Nevertheless, the lobster is still for sale at the shop. They also automatically cancelled my order. The lead and the manger were rude with me and another consumer.Never return to that store again.

Elderly ~15 item or less checkout clerk has an attitude problem, makes the shopping experience unpleasant.

I did find the rice a roni, so that's worth a second star. I was wrong that we couldn't find it. ;-)

Went in to do some shopping tonight, but had to turn right around. Their electric scooters all all gone -- stolen, it seems. I hope replacements have been ordered. In the meantime, I'll go a little further down the road to Nob Hill. Hope they still have a scooter available.

Well they did it again. You have to be very careful when purchasing their weekly ad items. Today I went there and bought the advertised mega size pack of ground beef. I listed the mega pack as $2.49 at checkout, $3.99 for non members. After getting home I noticed I was charged the $3.99 price because my mega pack was only 5.07 pounds and the small print in the ad said 6.0 lbs. So I lost $7.50 which doesn't seem like a lot, but this has happened many times with other listed weekly ad items. Once I purchased water for I thought $1.99 but it said in very small print, on-line orders only. Next time I shop at Safeway, I will stand at the check out stand and read every line of the receipt before leaving the line.
