Still at the restaurant celebrating my granddaughters 17th birthday. Haven't been to Scott's in years. Very glad we came tonight. My petrale sole was so delicious. The sauce was perfection. Literally everything on my plate, petrale sole, french fries and vegetables, was cooked perfectly. We are a party of 9 and the delivery of food was spot on. Our waiter, Christopher, has been awesome. Can't imagine how it could have been better.

We went a senior's "date night." We've eaten at Scott's before and liked it, but this time art was special. We had the Lobster Ba bisque and the trout. The soup was good but the trout was outstanding! We'll be back!

2 Caesar salads and a split small paella was tasty and enough for 2 post-Dune at TheTech eaters. But with a liter of mineral water and dessert and “surcharge” and taxes came to $100. Service was ok but no effort was made to clean table of paella spilled in sharing before serving dessert. Convenient location, nice people.

A little disappointed overall. Service was a little slow and forgetful. I did not like the chicken marsala. The King Crab legs were very good. Booth seating would be a great addition.

Cioppino, seafood paella, filet and oysters... all very well prepared, great flavors. Ok, oysters didn't take much prep but they were fresh and tasty. Service was spot on, timely and not intrusive. We could hear each other easily, the staff let us talk long after the coffee ran out, no rush. Great evening

Loved everything. I made a mistake on the time of my reservation but was accommodated graciously upon arrival. We were seated in a small intimate back room quiet and comfortable. My Sole Petrale was delicious. High recommend the caramelized brussels sprouts. Nice service. Prices these days are out of sight ,; can't afford a night out often but based on today's scale cost was a great value. Ill be going again

Had the lobster bisque soup and it was by far one of the best soups of ever had, with the bread and soup with there herbed up olive oil A1 15$ well spent. On the other hand 100$ Lobster Tail I bet could've been better respectfully. Wasn't bad at all but at that price I'd expect perfection. I'm cheap (if you can't tell already lol)

Great ambience, good food and service. We tried lobster roll, crab cakes, and fish and chips. Seafood was fresh and service was quick. The interiors were decorated for Valentine's dayVegetarian options: Lot of salad and veg appetizers

Seaing Red Venerable San José Institution that's been serving up some of the finest seafood in DTSJ for over thirty years. This is not the official location, as they were forced to move around three years ago from Park Ave to this current Paseo de San Antonio location. Personally, I kinda prefer this Paseo location over the old spot, but I know that rooftop seating is sorely missed. It's been a while since I've dined here, and we decided to give them a whirl for Valentine's Day, as they had a four-course menu for $95/per. The Good: *Service was fantastic, and the meal was paced out beautifully. They also handed out roses to all the ladies, which is a class move. *Reservations via OpenTable *Outdoor heated seating *Drinks were a bit on the pricier side, but they were delicious and packed a nice punch... 0_o *Complimentary bread was pretty good, but the seasoned garlic EVOO that came along with it was finger-lickin' good. *Both first courses were delicious with the seared ahi tuna melting in my mouth, and the mini crab cakes were an explosion of flavor. *Filet Mignon á la Oscar was cooked beautifully; the mashed potatoes were seasoned well; and the asparagus was cooked perfectly. The only complaint was the lump crab on top, which was flavorless and didn't seem to have much purpose other than fulfilling the namesake of the dish. *Lobster Risotto was delicious and cooked perfectly. The only complaint was the lobster was overcooked, just a touch, but once you mixed it in with the creamy Risotto, you didn't really notice it much. *Pistachio Crème Brûlée lived up to the hype with a nice subtle pistachio flavor with the creamy custard and crispy sugar topping that put it over the top. The Meh: *Lobster Bisque tasted more like a creamy pumpkin soup to me than a Lobster Bisque, but either way, it was still pretty tasty. *Molten Chocolate Cake was disappointing, as it was a bit dry, not very fudgey--or molten--and could've used some salt to brighten it up. *Pretty disappointing for a locally-owned spot like this to only have macrobrews on-tap and not feature any local beers from their neighbors just a few doors down . The Ugly: *Parking can always be a bit difficult in DTSJ--especially if you're not a regular patron--so do yourself a favor and plan accordingly. Conclusion: Great spot for a date night, anniversary, or just want to treat yourself to some good food in DTSJ.

The five stars is for their broccoli. Usually when cooking broccoli myself I manage to get the flavors up to 65% of what Scott's did. Sometimes I get distracted and burn the bottom layers in the pot - But the best I've ever done was around 85% of what Scott's did, which is when I just get lucky. If I assume Scott's broccoli to be at 100%, then Panda Express would rate at 40% in comparison, because Panda broccoli is often not fully cooked in the center or stalks, which makes the flavor taste like eating raw carrots or jicama. The Denny's broccoli would also be around 40%, but it is sometimes overcooked to the point of being mushy and has lost its color. It might also be frozen broccoli. The Scott's broccoli definitely tasted fresh and not frozen. The worst broccoli downtown I think was a 20%; this went to the broccoli in the teriyaki bowls at Jack in the Box. The teriyaki bowl broccoli sometimes has an old freezer taste to it. So, for the best tasting broccoli that I have ever eaten - this goes to Scott's in San Jose. Edited to add: For everyone who is not familiar with downtown San Jose, the city gives FREE parking to everyone as long as there is room, at the parking garage one block over, above the 3-Below Theater, for the first 90 minutes. It is a 5 minute walk away from Scott's. For those who have issues with walking for 5 minutes, it helps to think of it as an opportunity to burn off the extra calories from enjoying their complimentary sourdough bread

Nice to have another downtown San Jose quality restaurant choice. We usually go to Original Joe's or Il Fornaio and had forgotten about Scott's after it moved from Park Center Plaza. Our meal was excellent as was the service.

I'm disappointed to report a poor dining experience at Scott's Seafood. The service was slow, resulting in me fetching my own water after a 15-minute wait. The prefix menu lacked two items, requiring unwanted substitutions. The additional 5% staff surcharge felt unjustified given the service quality.

Busy Valentines night but excellent service and fast food service. Deserts a little disappointing, both pana cotte and melt in middle chocolate cake were heavily refrigerated, would have been nice warm. Staff super, friendly and accommodating.
