I was surprised to see a location outside of a mall or a supermarket. The food itself isn't bad, but the rice bowls are a bit bland all across the board. Great if you want to load up on cheap carbs, but otherwise it's better off being in a food court.

I usually go to the ones in Milpitas like on Barber lane or in G-mall but today i was near this store. Best chicken chop store in the bay. I get this or the sweet potato fries will plum powder.

Took a star off of service cause my order at this store came w/ a side of hair. The food was still good but the sight is still unpleasant. Get a hat or some hair nets in that kitchen. Im sure the milpitas ones do.

We stopped by Shihlin Taiwanese Street Snacks for a quick lunch. What caught my eye when searching for Taiwanese restaurants, was the small menu of popular Taiwanese street food. Both my wife and I love Taiwanese food and we try to eat at a Taiwanese restaurants when we run across one. You order from a kiosk (only 1 available). They advertise specials, but I couldn’t find any on the menu on the kiosk. The people making the food were busy and I couldn’t wave anyone down to help me, so I opted to order items on the menu. I got the Homemade Oyster Mee Sua, my wife got the Jiayi Chicken Rice and we got the Popcorn Chicken to share. I also got the Smoked Plum Juice for my drink. The flavors of the food were really good. The portion size was slightly small, but fair for the price. There are only a few tables/seats available, so if you have a larger party than 4, you most likely will not be able to find a place to sit together. Seating is best for 2 people here. Overall, I would come back to try more menu items the next time I am in the San Jose area.

The shop is takeout only, so there’s no seating, but there are tables in the mall where you can sit and eat.

The chicken is tender and delicious, and the seasoning is perfectly balanced. We ordered one chicken dish and one mushroom dish, and it was more than enough for four people - maybe even too much! It is a little oily/greasy, but still very delicious.

Solid spot for Taiwanese food. Their treasure rice box and popcorn chicken are my go-to favourites, but their other items are really good too. Everything is fresh, flavourful, and well portioned. Definitely worth going to when looking for a quick bite.

This location makes better quality food than other Shilin stores. I ordered the fried mushrooms and got a full box of delicious lightly battered deep-fried nameko mushrooms. I opted for medium spicy and they delivered. You can really taste the heat, which surprised me because Taiwanese food is generally not spicy—not complaining though because I love my spicy foods. Looking forward to ordering other menu items!

Came at 9:40pm on a Friday. I was told that they close at 9:30pm even though both their official site and Google says they open until 10pm. Employee was also pretty rude.

I used to like order takeout from Shilin. Yet, I had food poisoning after having Oyster mee shua yesterday. After one hour having Oyster mee shua, I started throwing up for the entire night.… that was too painful. I would never order food from here again.

The Chicken is delicious, the flavor is unlike any other place I've tried, and the crunch is phenomenal. You get a good amount of Chicken for $12. I recommend the mild spice XL chicken thigh ordered ahead through the app. You can get the less seasoning option if you're adverse to the strong flavor. We usually have leftovers, and they make great sandwiches.

I came here several times and satisfied with my order of popcorn chicken. The flavor was not super tasty but the price was quite affordable with a big portion. For some reason, the last time I visited the store, the chicken was dry and disappointing. Despite the reasonable price, I don't think I will come back here again.
