Honestly, I was a bit put off by the restaurant’s appearance at first. The interior is old and somewhat dilapidated—let’s call it “rustic charm”—and there was a faint smell coming from what seems to be a broken drain pipe. But the meal I ordered was delicious, and I felt perfectly fine afterward, so the issues appear to be mostly cosmetic.

The burnt ends were the best I’ve ever tasted. They had a thin layer of caramelized sugar, a crispy charred exterior, and overall great texture. I also ordered the lean/fatty brisket. It was tasty but not particularly impressive; the fat could’ve used a good sear to bring out more flavor and juices. Later that night, when reheating the leftovers, I tossed the fatty brisket in my air fryer for five minutes, and that actually made it much more flavorful.

The Southern vegetables and baked beans were also delicious and packed with umami. The cornbread was soft and moist, served with a cinnamon(?)–flavored pat of butter that made it even better.

Overall, this was an amazing meal that far surpassed my expectations. I do hope the owners can get the drain pipe issue fixed because the smell is intolerable when you're trying to eat a meal. Until then, I'll be sticking to take out. Looking forward to trying the hot links next time!

This is a dive!! Avoid this place at all cost. Food was cold, the sauce containers looked 5 years old. The sweet tea was a few days old. The chicken looked like it was cooked a few days ago with its dry crusty burnt skin close to jerky then bbq, but it definitely didn't taste good. The bathroom smelled like a rotten sewer bathroom and the dreaded fumes poured out of the sewer onto the dining area. I honestly believe we heard mice or rats squeaking. The plastic traps out front and on both sides nearly confirmed it, I haven't felt sick yet but this place ruined the night. Id never go to this place ever ever again. Even if the meals were free! Don't think I'll get sick and hope i don't. I leave tons of reviews all over the world, top 10% on google, from hotels to cafes and this was the worst yet. I just can't forget the squeaks or the smell of the bathroom, all the way on the opposite side of the restaurant. Save your pallet for candy and chips at a gas station.

Honest review by a BBQ lover.

I came here for lunch at 12pm and got the brisket, pulled pork and pork ribs. I get to BBQ places early in case they sell out of what I want. There was no line, and only a handful of people on a Saturday.
Staff were awesome. Very attentive, very nice, great people.

Did I eat it all... Yes. Was it good, yes.

But I was looking for a Texas style BBQ experience, and this was not it.

The brisket was good, not great. A little dryer than desired. A little firmer than you would expect from professional. The bark was not noticeable. A common theme.

The pulled pork was much dryer than it should be and the smoke flavor was not present. There was no bark.

The pork ribs had no bark as well, much firmer than desired.

I'm sure the meat would be much better as a sandwich. That seems to be the #1 seller there.

The good stuff was the Mac and cheese which was great. The BBQ sauces were fantastic! Each one has a different flavor. It's a good thing The sauces are so good because they are necessary to accompany the meat. My expectation on great bbq would be not needing the sauce to be flavorful.
The corn bread was also well done. No nonsense corn bread is my preference.

The food over here is amazing! The brisket and spareribs was soo juicy. I loved the bbq beans!! The only thing is the cole slaw was average. It needed a little more salt and maybe some apple cider vinegar for more flavor.

This place offers it all of your a BBQ fan! The brisket, beans, corn bread and side Cesar salad was my choice today and Carla was my waitress. Very friendly and tentative. If you want Cheap BBQ, don't come here because good BBQ ain't Cheap and and Cheap BBQ ain't good.
$40 for the LG brisket plate with mixed fat/lean with the premium side. Worth it!

Parking is small so be careful, might be better to park on the street. Food came by pretty quick, had the peach lemonade and that was good, father had lemonade he said it was not too sweet, overall good experience.
