Really good place to eat sandwhiches are pretty good. But the best stuff is in the bakery. The cookies are the bes. I love them so much and their pricing is good. But you have to get some cookies if you visit here

Large selection of sandwiches etc, also European pastries & dedicated coffee shop like kiosk. Plenty seating. Food always tastes great. I hear it's shutting down though due to the block being demolished. Will miss it. Hope they relocate nearby.

Go there for the cookies! The chocolate chip cookies there are some of the best I've even had. The sandwiches are okay, I have a feeling their baked goods will be really good judging off their cookies :)
I work in downtown SJ and Specialty's is by far one of the best places in the area to go for a decent lunch, in terms of cost and the overall quality of food. Arguably there are not many options around for people focused on strength training best practices involving nutrition. I believe that the variety of food available here packs the healthiest portion of protein, fats, and carbs without the unhealthy additives you typically find at other to-go style eateries. I almost always get the white bean chicken chili and a side of chicken, as both are fast and super easy for the kitchen to prepare and I'm able to down it quickly. However, I have been slightly disappointed lately with their turn-around time lately, as it's taken over 40 minutes multiple times over the past few months to get my food. Note, I'm ordering soup and chicken, both of which are already prepared and sitting there ready to go. This place is great once your food is actually in front of you, but it takes too long to be reliable for a quick lunch.

Speciality's cookies are AMAZING. They are SO GOOD. They are sweet for sure, but they aren't too sweet. They're also super soft. However, Speciality's only offers like six or seven flavors which is a little sad, but they do bake them constantly throughout the day, which is super awesome because if you show up at the right time, you can get a freshly baked cookie!
