Unfortunately, I have to update my review with a lower rate because they recently changed their Koobideh recipes and style, and that's the worst one I tried in my entire life.
I hope they make some changes on their Koobideh, and I can update my review for 5 star because they deserve it.

I had the worst koobideh in my life in this restaurant 2 weeks ago. It WAS NOT beef, maybe made of dry bread or flour. It was yellow which i have never seen koobide be YELLOW. Also smelled like rotten meat. Oh boy, i would never go back to this restaurant ever. Waste of money and time!!!!
Disappointing Koobideh – Mostly Bread, Not Beef
I ordered the koobideh here and was really disappointed. It’s definitely not pure beef – you can tell just by looking at it, and the texture and taste confirm it’s heavily mixed with bread or filler. For $24, I expected two proper skewers of quality beef, but these didn’t fill me up at all. The portion felt skimpy, and the quality wasn’t there.
I’ve had koobideh at other persian places, and it was much better – meatier, more flavorful, and clearly made with better ingredients. Unfortunately, this place cuts corners, and it shows. Wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for authentic koobideh.

The food was really bad
The meat smellled and it wasn’t fresh at all.
We ordered pretty much everything and none of them was good.
We didn’t even eat 10% of what we ordered. The lady who served us was nice lady and asked as if we want to box the food. I was going to tell her look we couldn’t even eat now how could we eat this later or tomorrow.
We don’t recommend this at all unless they change the quality of their food.
The worse Persion food we ever had and we were group of 14 people and everyone said the same thing.

Very delicious food, they have vegan options on the menu, as well as gluten free options. Fast service, nice and helpful staff, great atmosphere.

Food was overcooked for both the shrimp and chicken. The menu was pricey and no sides or sauces were included with the plates. We order Mediterranean food at least 2x a week and this was our least favorite restaurant that we had tried. Unfortunately we will not be going back!

But not anymore… past Saturday 4/26/25 I took some guests first food was really bad wasn’t expected from this place kobedah was hard like rubber old disgusting and rice crushed like in pieces and believe me we were the only one who was there . I had 3 more orders to go for other family members but they Found 2 long white hair 🤢 . And yea I paid more then $200 for this food . Will never go back and please check your food before eating.

Stone Stew 1 in San Jose is an absolute gem for authentic Persian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the beautiful décor and warm ambiance make you feel right at home. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating an atmosphere that feels both traditional and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a comforting meal.
We had the pleasure of trying their famous Vakil Abad-Mashad Stone Stew, which was prepared tableside—such a unique experience! The flavors were rich, bold, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Torghabeh Special Dish for Two, which was incredibly generous in portion size, leaving us with plenty of leftovers to take home. Out of the three meats, the Koobideh was definitely the standout—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. While the chicken and beef filet were a little on the dry side, the extra juices on the plate helped balance it out and made everything more succulent.
One special feature of this restaurant is that they occasionally have live music on Saturday nights, though it’s best to call ahead since it depends on reservations. We visited in the mid-afternoon and didn’t need a reservation, which was convenient.
Perhaps the best compliment I can give is that my fiancé, who is Persian, thought the food was excellent—and that says a lot! This place delivers on authentic flavors, hearty portions, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It was an extremely fulfilling and comforting dining experience, and we will definitely be returning!

Absolutely fantastic! Food was amazing, flavorful, quick, and piping hot. The server was super friendly and also helped make suggestions to fully round out our dining experience. The restaurant itself was clean and bright. Out door area is well kept and uses plants to naturally block out in coming winds.
Loved our visit, and will definitely be dining here again

One of the few times I’m not taking leftovers home
DO NIT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!
They charge more than what is mentioned in their menu. Do not go there because they will come ip with some funny logic like if you have a child with you or if you are more than 5 people ti increase your bill value by 20%!!! No transparency in their menu and how they charge!!!!
