I can’t stay silent after what I witnessed today at Safeway. This was one of the most heartbreaking and disappointing experiences I’ve ever seen in a store.

Safeway is located right next to a Dialysis Center, so it’s common to see patients coming in after treatment — tired, weak, sometimes in wheelchairs. These are people who need just a little patience and basic human kindness.

Today, a woman came in after dialysis, in a wheelchair. She looked extremely weak, could barely speak, and when she did, her voice was very quiet. She needed help — clearly, obviously.

Two female employees were working at the time. They saw her. They absolutely saw her. They kept walking back and forth, pretending to be extremely busy, but not one of them approached her. Not a single word. No “Do you need help?” No eye contact. Nothing.

This poor woman waited for about ten minutes, completely ignored, without a single attempt from anyone to assist her. In the end, she simply had to leave. She wasn’t helped, she wasn’t served — she just left, feeling sick and unheard.

To watch a person in a wheelchair, fresh out of dialysis, be treated like they don’t exist — that broke something in me. It was cruel, cold, and deeply disappointing.

After this experience, I’m done with Safeway. I won’t step foot in this store again. If a place can’t respect and serve the most vulnerable customers, then it doesn’t deserve my business.

I truly hope management sees this, because what happened today was not just bad service — it was inhumane.

There is MOLD coming out of your Ice Machine!!! I will never return to this store after my experience. The lady that helped me was busy having a conversation with her coworker, almost the whole time and seemed to have an attitude when she asked me questions. I paid $21 for a foot-long meal and when I went to go get my drink, I put ice in the cup and noticed a bunch of black stuff in it. So I asked to grab another cup, put ice in that cup, and realize that there is mold coming out of the ice machine. After telling the worker, I was surprised they didn’t seem too care about it. Just so everyone’s clear that goes there today you’re drinking MOLD in your cup.

This subway is on another level. It looks like a picture as their ingredients look so fresh and cleanly laid out. The sandwich the lady made me was delicious.
