Seems like great sushi but zero customer service or manners. Employees tried to tell me I showed up too early for pickup order even though it was 10 minutes after their system told me to come pick up. Very frustrating experience and they refused to expedite my order or help. Just told me to wait more. Not the way a business should be run when charging high end sushi prices. Very disappointed

Love their sushi. Their rolls are big in size and very filling. My favourite's so far are Allen roll, Koya roll and Garlic roll! Also their spicy garlic edamame is really good!

Sashimi is good during weekdays. Usually order 20pcs assorted sashimi. Fresh, the cut and the temperature are good. But the quality is bad over weekends, some of them just warm. I’d give 4 stars for weekday food and 2 stars for weekend.

Good quality sushi, anything baked will take a long time for them to prepare, great rolls. Nice environment and complimentary miso soup

3.5 stars. This is located in a strip mall close to McDonald's and the Cinelux Almaden Theaters. Like other reviewers had said, this is a "hole-in-the-wall." It serves decent food.Parking is limited. But, you should be able to find a spot. Bathrooms are located outside with a code. Service is polite, attentive, and friendly. They provide complimentary miso soup. The sushi rice used on these rolls was seasoned well. Though, the texture was kinda wet/mushy. Maybe just this batch of rice.49er Roll: Salmon, avocado wrapped salmon, and thin sliced lemon. The salmon was nice and fresh. Hamachi Roll: Yellowtail, cucumber wrapped yellowtail with spicy sauce. This is a no frills roll. You could taste the fresh Hamachi. The spicy sauce was a dab of sriracha.Spicy Rainbow Roll: Spicy tuna and cucumber covered by a colorful array of raw fish. I liked the spicy tuna, but it wasn't too spicy but flavorful. California Roll - crab and avocado. Decent amount of crab meat and mayo. Pretty decent roll.Dragon Roll: Deep fried shrimp, crab meat covered with fresh water eel and avocado. This was a pretty tasty roll. Though, very thin slices of eel and avocado.Overall, decent rolls. I'll be back to try other rolls, sashimi, or their bentos. They give you a dine-in stamp card, with every $20 spent, they stamp your card and after 10 visits, you will get a $10 off discount.

This is the best sushi spot in the Willow Glen area. I am a huge fan of the monster roll. It is pricey but it literally has everything in it and has a unique sauce drizzled on top. This restaurant does a gives you a stamp for each $20 you spend. Once you fill it up, you get a $10 off. The restroom is oddly outside, which I was skeptical at first, but they're very clean.

I had lunch here last week. We had some good maki rolls and a super crunchy and tasty calamari appetizer. Our young server was friendly and attentive. The sushi chefs greeted us as we entered...love that tradition. The fish was fresh and the rolls were well made. We had a great experience at Koya. We'll be back!

I came here with a colleague of mine for lunch as we were currently in town. It was located in a building that looked like it use to be Taco Bell back in the early 90s. Kind of a silly thing to describe, but it does! The ambiance doesn't really remind me of a sushi restaurant, but more so a restaurant that they just quickly put some decor and just made it a little more on the Japanese touch.Customer service was mediocre. I feel like a lot of other tables had received more attentive service. Our server was busy, but we were right next to the kitchen when she walked out. I guess I assumed that she would see my empty cup of water needing a refill, but who knows..I ordered a chicken katsu with tempura and sashimi. Not something I would normally order actually as usually my go to is sashimi and rolls. However, my colleague was treating, and I didn't want to order something way out of the way when her meal was fairly cheap. The katsu was really good in my opinion. I love the sauce and how flavorful it was. The sashimi was pretty good also, I got salmon, and of course you just can't go wrong.Overall, I think it's a pretty decent restaurant minus the fact I didn't order actual sashimi like that or any rolls.

***3.5 stars***My friend and I came on a Friday evening around 7:30pm and there was a short wait and it got pretty crowded after we sat down. We shared 3 rolls: Yummy Yummy, Mr. Unagi, and Allen's. We were very pleased to find out that free miso soup was included in the meal! My ranking of the rolls from most to least favorite: 1) Mr. Unagi, Allen's, and Yummy Yummy. The Mr. Unagi looked the most plain (unagi on top of California roll) but it ended up being very flavorful and delicious! Allen's had a little too much going on and the seared salmon was not apparent. The Yummy Yummy was very average - I usually LOVE salmon and mango together but I wasn't the biggest fan on how some pieces only had mango and didn't have fish. Ideally I would've liked if each piece had both salmon and mango for a balance of flavors. I also tasted a weird mango puree-like aftertaste. I feel like their rolls focus more on sauce than the fish itself. Service was really good though! But honestly probably would choose other sushi restaurants over this spot in the future.
