The decoration is gorgeous but the frosting is dense and overly sweet. The cake is okay and fluffy.

Ordered a cake for my niece birthday and they did not disappoint! I was recommended to go with red velvet. Moist and not overly sweet. Very helpful staff as well. Will be coming back in the near future!
Valerie made my day!! So kind. Thank you!!
Walked in here was greeted and then ignored.
Then 2 minutes later a white gentleman walks in and instantly asked if he was ready to order!! We had to tell her Yesss we are ready to order.
Really messed up my whole perception of this place! DO BETTER!!!
SusieCakes is a delightful gem for anyone craving classic, all-American baked goods made from scratch. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with the irresistible scent of butter, sugar, and pure happiness. Their cakes are beautifully simple — no over-the-top decorations, just clean layers of moist cake and creamy, rich frosting.
I tried the Celebration Cake and the Red Velvet, and both were incredible. The staff were warm, patient, and clearly passionate about what they do. Everything feels personal, like you’re getting a homemade treat from a friend, or if your friend were an award-winning baker.
If you're looking for beautifully baked goods that taste like childhood memories and birthday parties, SusieCakes is absolutely worth the visit.
I’ve really tried to be patient with this location, but after several messed-up orders, I can’t stay silent. I order one customized cupcake each month—just one—but somehow, they get it wrong every time. Whether it’s the wrong writing or missing design, there’s always an issue. And you have to pay extra for all these.
It’s honestly starting to feel like they don’t care because I’m only ordering a single cupcake. But small orders deserve the same attention as big ones—especially when it’s something personalized.
What’s frustrating is that the San Carlos location was so much better. They always got it right. Unfortunately, this location is more convenient for me, which is why I’ve kept coming back. But convenience isn’t worth the disappointment anymore. I’ll be looking elsewhere from now on.
I picked up a raspberry vanilla cake yesterday for Mother’s Day. The cake was dense, gluey and looked not properly cooked. I was expecting an airy cake like their excellent very berry cake. It was a disappointment for such an expensive cake.
why decorate such a cake as the cake is layered it is impossible to miss that texture?
Frankly if I could I would return it for a refund.
This charming bakery has a cozy vibe - especially the sweet green and white paint on the walls that makes the whole place feel sugar-dusted. You can actually see the baking magic happening on-site. The cupcakes are adorable and Instagram-ready, I tried a few treats, and while the whoopie pie was a total win, the chocolate cupcake leaned a bit bitter for my taste. They tuck your treats in the prettiest mint polka-dotted boxes with instructions on top. The overall experience was delightful , and I’d definitely pop back in for more sugary cheer!

A lil too sweet for my taste, but can tell use fresh ingredients.
My favorite is the peanut butter cupcake (seriously addicted). Also want to shout out Madeline she is just so kind and provides excellent service!

I like the cakes here as they are on the dense side. The prices for the whole cakes are reasonable too. They are actually quite similar to Sprinkles cupcakes, if you've had that, in price and taste. (I ordered a whole banana cake from Sprinkles recently.)
Aesthetically, their cakes are relatively tall in height which makes them look super cute and their logo is retro, love that. Even though their cakes are mostly comprised of buttercream and I don't love buttercream, I find theirs to be edible. You must wait awhile for the cake to defrost though or else it will be as hard as rocks. I had an oversight and took the cake out too late and the bridal shower got slightly held up as we waited 30-45 minutes. To be fair, some of their icings are harder than others. Their cake writing is stellar, although I feel some of the simple decorations are simply overpriced.
I've liked some of their seasonal selections, like the orange cranberry cake, a classic combo! We had an apple pie from them too that tasted old-fashioned and delicious. And a whoopie pie. I would not recommend their cupcakes or cookies.

Check your order before you leave the store to make sure they pack everything! I ordered 5 cupckes and one cookie. They packed it all in a box that is taped shut. Got home, opened box, and no $4 cookie. :(
