Terrible food. I ordered a noodle and it was exceedingly salty. Tried two bites and decided not eating it. The staff were rude as well. The waiter was ignoring and rude to me the whole time. Waited long time for a to-go box for my other food as well. Do not recommend!

The duck was very good

Great place, great Nanjing food, great service. As someone who is from China, this is really authentic and you should definitely try this place.

The food was all very tasty, especially the fried stinky tofu, and the pig ears. It was surprising to see so many choices for a small restaurant. The portions are very decent. All the staff were friendly and made sure to accommodate our dietary restrictions and requests.

Is this the south bay’s best kept secret??? We stumbled into this unassuming hole-in-the-wall when the line was too long for our favorite Ethiopian and Japanese restaurants next door.

All the other patrons were speaking Chinese so I knew it was legit… but I was a little bit nervous about the menu options, many of which I’d never encountered before, despite considering myself a lover of Chinese food. (Some hardcore examples: duck blood soup, pig ear salad)

This restaurant specializes in cuisine from the region of Nanjing so they’ve got some American favorites like combo chow mein and broccoli beef, but also more adventurous dishes like the ones I listed above.

We played it relatively safe and ordered the seafood ChaoMa noodle soup and the xian hand pulled noodles with tomato and egg sauce.

Folks, this was hands down the best noodle experience I have had in my life.

The seafood soup came out first. The broth was incredible. Very generous helping of both noodles and various seafood. I only tried the shrimp but it tasted fresh, not frozen.

My hand pulled noodles took significantly longer. I joked aloud, “what are they doing, hand pulling the noodles as we speak?” Turns out they WERE. They hand pull the noodles to order and they’re thick and chewy and perfectly cooked with a delicious light vinegary tomato sauce. I have had a lot of noodles at a lot of Chinese restaurants and I couldn’t believe the quality, price, and the care they put into these dishes.

The grand total? $33.

We were the last ones there and the owner waited patiently for us to finish our meal, smiling at our baby, not hurrying us at all.

We ate our plates clean and left wondering why no one is talking about this place.

Forget fancy dining, from now on all birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s Day meals are happening at sweet home kitchen.

We had the nanjing roasted duck and the duck blood vermicelli soup. Both had very large portions and both were really tasty! We kinda wished that there could be more customized seasoning for the soup but it tasted good. We ordered half a duck but there were two legs! Very rare to see when we order half, but very nice and generous of this restaurant!

The restaurant itself was small and seats were limited. Not too many people were inside but servers were nice and attentive. Will come back

Their 3 dish combo is one of my selected daily for carry out. It takes 10+ mins from phone order to dish ready. And the quality is very good to its price. But not many sit inside.

Home flavor!

Great food, reasonable price. But unfortunately the store still uses styrofoam containers, which is really bad for your health with hot / oily food. I hope you can correct it.

The belly noodles are too oily and the Nanjing roast duck is too salty.
There are many takeout orders, resulting in a long wait for dine-in, and the store is also very noisy.

Overall great Chinese food! We ordered 3-meal combo, duck blood rice noodle soup and roasted duck. The price is reasonable and food was tasty. Recommend Mushu Chicken and Beef with potato.

Update 07/2024:
Remember to try the roasted ducks!
————————————
Cheap but authentic Nanjing Cuisine. The duck blood rice noodle soup is a must try. The duck blood is directly imported from China, so as the sausages and bacons.
