Over charged on credit cards, no good customer service, badly badly
Recently, Canada's premier Asian grocery supermarket chain T&T Supermarket opened its very store in Bellevue, WA just outside of Seattle. Being from Canada, we LOVE our T&T Supermarket, it's a hundred times better than your typical Ranch 99 or Marina Market here in the Bay Arean
When I came across a YouTube video showing a conversation between T&T Supermarket CEO Tina Lee & a Bay Area Real Estate Development Company whom also helped bring Santana Row & Westgate Mall to the South Bay, I thought they're bringing a store here as well - as the title indicated.
A quick Google showed me there's a T&T Seafood, I was ecstatic - as I thought T&T Supermarket is already here. Well, not so fast... 😒😒 This one is near King Road in South San Jose near Story Road & the Little Saigon District of San Jose; no way CEO Tina Lee of T&T would have put her store in the majority Vietnamese community area; instead of San Jose/Cupertino/Sunnyvale borders where there's a larger Chinese/Taiwanese Community, as T&T CEO and its founder Tina's mom are originally from Taiwan.
T&T Seafood is a Vietnamese owned supermarket, and onrvans only one such store; unlike T&T Supermarket which has over 20+ stores in Canada, and now in the U.S. as well; a San Jose store can be expected within 2-5 years.
It carries a good variety of Asian groceries from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan & Korea, and of course, Vietnam, but it lacks the yummies that most Bay Area engineers born in China or Taiwan are yearning for. For example, Stinking Tofu, Sun Cakes, etc and of course, the sauces that they grew up with that fit their palettes. T&T Seafood fits those that are from Indo China, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, etc.
If I were in the neighborhood, I'd go. But to drive 15-20 miles from Sunnyvale is a long way.
Place with limited space inside the store, the aisles are very narrow
I went to several other places before finding this place. They were the only location I found that would fillet catfish for me and they did and amazing job, cutting, cleaning, skinning it.
Fresh fish. Live crabs.
No returned. The store didn't put a sign about it, only written in the recipe. Be careful what you want to buy.

Fresh tropical fruits ?
They have a variety of more exotic fruits you don't usually see around the Bay. Prices are a bit high, but you get to try things you normally can't unless you travel, so cheaper than a plane ticket.
My sister and I came and got a bunch of fruits today. I got a bag of mangosteen. Wasn't sure they were good, but still I was lucky all 12 fruits were good. Fresh and Yummy. I usually come here to get fresh Asian tropical fruits, mangoes, longan, rambutan, ...
