The Best Sandwiches

This review has nothing to do with the quality of their food. According to Apple Maps and Google Maps this place closes at 7pm. I walked in at 6:20 to order a sandwich and had both employees insist that the shop had already closed and refused to service me. There were other customers inside being serviced and the doors were still wide open with the open sign still flashing. Pretty confused

I came in around 5:45 PM on a Sunday hoping to grab a drink. Unfortunately, the woman at the register immediately told me, without any greeting or courtesy, that they were closed. She seemed frustrated and dismissive, which made the experience feel unwelcoming.

I understand that everyone can have a tough day, and working in customer service isn’t always easy, I’ve been there myself. But basic professionalism goes a long way, especially in customer-facing roles. If your closing time is truly 5:30 PM on Sundays, I’d highly suggest updating your hours on Google and Yelp to avoid confusion.

This isn’t about one bad day, it’s about the impression left on customers and the potential impact on your business. I hope management sees this and has a constructive conversation with the staff involved. Accurate hours and friendly service are the bare minimum.

The sandwiches were good, but unfortunately the customer service was lacking. Neither of the two people at the register greeted us or smiled—just straight faces and no basic courtesy you’d typically expect in a restaurant setting.

We came today 5/11 and ordered 11 sandwiches. The 4 I saw first hand were not the quality we are used to getting from the Milpitas location. There was an excessive amount of greens and very little filling. The vegan sandwich on the menu shows a chicken breast - we assumed it was a fake meat but when we got the sandwich it was just veggies and not an abundance. I should've taken a photo of all of them but it was a Mother's Day gathering and I didn't want to bother everyone with photos. The tuna sandwich was thick slices of bread, a ton of greens, and just a thin layer of tuna. The egg salad had so many greens I had to pull them off to be able to bite the sandwich and the amount of egg salad was sad.
The pastrami was 'ok'. The meat wasn't fatty but didn't have much flavor. Nothing in the sandwich stood out or dominated. It was just 'ok'.
The ingredients were fresh but it was just missing today. We gave them an hour to make the sandwiches and it wasn't that busy when we ordered.
We'll give them another try but I think we may need to stick with the Milpitas location for consistency.

Roast beef sandwich grilled to perfection. I also ordered from the kids menu a turkey and cheese sandwich and was surprise by the small side of fresh fruit (pre-cut and perfect for a toddler), mini lemonade, and coloring pages, all neatly placed in a dinosaur gift box. I loved their attention to detail and would absolutely come back again. My kids love this place, and all reasonably priced.

I tried the torta Mexicana sandwich, and it was delish! I tend to schedule my orders ahead of time, and the last 2 times my order has been late, that's my only complaint. The guys at the shop are very nice.

We ordered their sandwiches for our whole team for a convention in San Jose. Marielena is amazing!! She made sure everything was done timely and with high quality. Sandwiches were fresh and really good. The portion size was super generous. I did get a feedback from vegetarians that the veggie sandwich could use some sort of protein.

This was my first time trying this place and I'm going to give my honest opinion. For the price you really get a heavy portion. No complaints there. I read a ton of reviews about the Torta Cubana so that's what I tried. It honestly was just ok, I've had better tortas from Mexico Bakery. The green cilantro sauce they give you really saves the sandwich. Without the sauce, the torta as a standalone is just ok. Not bad, not great. The chicken and beef empanadas were also just ok, but to be fair I really don't have anything to compare it to because I don't typically eat empanadas. The crust of the empanadas was crispy and flavorful but the inside was just lacking something, maybe salt? However the fried plantains it comes with was 10/10 and when you take a bite of the crispy empanada and a bite of the plantains it was a nice combo. They gave me another sauce, like a sweet mayo, which I really enjoyed, and also some pickled red onions, that were also delicious. They definitely have great sauces, and perhaps I'm just a sauce person but they were spot on with those. I licked the cups the sauces come in clean, that's how good they were. I probably won't go back, but I also think you should try it for yourself. We do all have different palates and taste buds.

Great alfajores! The service takes a while because there is only 1 person manning the counter but the food is made in front of you. No packaged sandwiches here ❤️. I also ordered a hot Mayan Mocha and oh my gosh! Totally worth it. I'd come here again 😊.
