Please see the section regarding dietary restrictions for a brief explanation of the situation. The "Midtown Trio" is described as follows:

"Can't decide. Get them all! or 3! Mix and Match French Toast or Pancakes."

After a lengthy discussion with the girl at the front desk, who was nice and helpful to the best of her ability, it seemed as though she not only lacked an understanding of the menu, but also of the layout of the restaurant's website. She brought her manager, and by this point I had thought to pull up the photo on the website of the correct item that was erroneously replaced, and I verbalized both that I wanted it replaced per my original order and that I wanted a refund for the $2.00 that was spent without any additional gluten free items (the gluten free blueberry banana comes gluten free without additional cost).

The manager comes back maybe halfway through with some text messages on her phone and asked for some information about the order so she can request the refund. She indicates that there's someone she has to request permission from for the refund which I understand. I ask if we could get a discount for the additional wait time and she says "probably not" without looking into it. Then the interaction ends and she heads back into the restaurant.

After maybe 20-30 total minutes of waiting, the manager comes back out with the same exact plate and some details regarding the refund. It was at this point that I restated my request for the replacement and the plate was taken back again.

We were here waiting for the resolution of a $21 plate for almost an hour, at which point breakfast and brunch hours were over, so we couldn't even save the morning by heading across the street to McDonald's.

I was really disappointed because this was my first visit. Every other time I've tried to come here, the place was full because it's such a popular breakfast and brunch spot, especially on the weekends. I couldn't even judge the food properly because it was left sitting out for so long, and based on what I got, it definitely wasn't worth the hype. I'll never go here again, and that's also disappointing to me because I live so close by. I had a much better experience at the nearby Stacks where the employees were, in contrast, respectful, attentive, and actually knew their menu inside and out despite how new the location was. It was a complete waste of my morning and day off, and I was made to feel like I inconvenienced the staff instead of the other way around.

Dietary restrictions: There was a gluten free blueberry banana pancake, which I ordered. However, there was also a checkbox titled "Gluten Fre" for the entire order of the Midtown Trio, which I selected. Not only were the other two items NOT gluten free and could not be gluten free, one of the other orders in the set was replaced with the gluten free blueberry banana pancake without any notification.

We were very impressed with the food quality, portion and taste. It was all absolutely delicious. Everyone you interact with here from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave was polite, friendly and extremely attentive. We went on a Saturday morning and there was a short wait (definitely worth any wait). We were seated faster than expected and enjoyed the chill atmosphere during our meal. We will most definitely be back.

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. While the wait was an hour long, I found it understandable given the likely demand and did not consider it an issue.
However, the food presented some challenges. The dishes I ordered were overly salty and greasy

We came here around 11:30 on Sunday, after 45 mins waiting for a table, and then waiting for food, we got food around 1 pm.

One of the dishes was cold, other dish was not following order, so it seems like the service is not very good under the crowd.

The food itself is delicious, there are plenty of customization options, a good amount, sides and sauces - all is great.

It is worth the wait to get amazing food, but the service is not top notch.

One of the best breakfast places in San Jose! My husband and I went here early in the morning, taking our baby for a ride. The staff were very thoughtful, seating us in a spacious spot where our baby's stroller could easily fit.

The food was almost perfect. My husband ordered the surf and turf benny, and it was by far the best eggs benedict I’ve tasted. The steak was perfectly seasoned, and every bite melted in my mouth.

I ordered the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken, and the serving was massive! The chicken and fried rice were savory, but they didn’t really go well together because the fried rice overpowered the taste of the chicken.

Overall, I would recommend this place and would eat here again!

The food was delicious, we came to try this spot as it was highly recommended by a TikTOk influencer. We loved the 1) chicken and waffles plate, 2) lox Benedict’s.

We disliked the marshmallow pancakes (if you like extreme sweetness with random flavors, then this is for you).

The service was ok but due to the influx of customers, they do forget about you once you order.

Absolutely best breakfast place. It was about a thirty minute wait to get a table but the food was worth it! They are literally running to bus tables so people aren't waiting any longer than they have to. The portions are huge and ome plate could easily feed two people. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

Get there early or be prepared to wait. Food is always exceptional. Last time, had the Santa Maria while Mrs. got the Crab Cakes bene. So good, and portions are big enough to share. Good mix of cocktails as well.

This place has always been popular, but it’s run down now. First time back in about 5 years and they need to seriously deep clean it. The floor, chairs, bathrooms, etc. are gross from lack of proper cleaning and the restaurant itself had a mildew or damp rag smell. Very understandable for the amount of traffic they get day after day, but not acceptable. As soon as we sat, my senses were not happy and I had the “uh oh I think this is now a ‘tourist trap’ now but for locals.” Aaand I was right.
The food itself was just ok — not worth the long waits. They could elevate the food quality and attention to details to match the hype but it’s just a miss. The coffee was bad (huge disappointment for a breakfast spot), some dishes were just bland, and then there’s little things like using little creamer packages instead of fresh creamer, smucker’s jelly vs made in house, etc.
Lastly, the service was bad. The table next to us waited 15 min for anyone to approach them until they flagged a food runner who was then apologizing, taking their order, and checking up on them since our waiter was MIA. Our table had empty coffee cups waiting for the waiter to show up. You get the point.
Vegetarian review of the tofu scramble: just don’t get it, it’s bland.

Vegetarian options: Tofu scramble was bland. Chunks of tofu instead of a scramble. So easy to make at home and somehow they totally missed the mark on this one.

Great place for a Sunday brunch . I went in there with my friends at around 12:30 . The staff informed us of a waiting time of 1hr 15 min but we were seated in 40 min
Note: they yell out your name exactly twice at the entrance. If you do not respond , they cancel you from the list and move on

We ordered the classic Benedict , the crab cake Benedict and the crispy chicken sandwich. The portion size of each dish is huge (would suggest sharing )
The hollandaise sauce was heavy and needed some seasoning in the classic Benedict. The crab cake Benedict was in turn very good and so was the sandwich. We ended up taking all forms of potatoes as sides , all needed seasoning .
The staff is prompt and helpful. Ambience is also very good . Not Instagram perfect but more like a joint you can spend good time in
