Great place to host large groups for dinner and drinks. The outdoor back space is really cool and provides a nice spot to watch games outdoors. I got a salad and the table got appetizers to share, all amazing!
This is my favorite place! The food is always good and the manager is a great guy. He cooked me a liver due to the Mother's Day that was out of the menu. It was super nice!
As will be clear from all of my previous reviews, I usually only bother to write them, if I have had a positive experience. However on this occasion, I feel the need to highlight how poor the customer service we received was. We have recently moved to the area and decided to visit this pub because they had an offer on, which was $5 fish tacos, stating that in this location, the Brit, they were sold in sets of 3.
When we went to pay, we queried the deal as the total price was not what we had expected. Our understanding was that, as per picture, it does not state anywhere that there is a minimum purchase of 3, but that in these 2 locations, the tacos are served in sets of 3.
This is when we were introduced to the ‘manager’ Ken, who was quite frankly, rude, confrontational and the worst person we have met who works in hospitality for a long time.
We queried the bill and were met with an aggressive and threatening response, for simply asking a question.
Ken then decided to make the situation quite hostile (unnecessarily, we were not saying we wouldn’t pay, we were simply explaining the offer was not clear) telling us we had to settle the bill and that he did not care about the offer. He kept offering the owners card and told us to bring it up with him as it wasn’t his problem but that we would not be leaving without paying out our bill (which once again, we had never suggested, we were just starting that the offer was not clear!)
Would never go back and would not recommend, not worth the agg!!!
I used to go to the Brit, pre Sharks games, for several years. The vibe, food, and overall experience was consistent and fun….until today. Ordered my “Go to” shepherds pie and it was disgusting. Cold and flavorless. Advised the waiter and he didn’t seem surprised. He offered his obligatory apology and took it away. The meal my friend ordered was equally dissatisfying. I will never patronize this again.
Best Bangers and Mash this side of the pond. Good Guinness too.
What more could you want?
Wait what? I’ve been here a bunch of times and haven’t reviewed them? Shame on me!
The best thing about The Brit is it’s a sports bar. Done! Sharks, Warriors, 49ers…! Inside gets packed and is probably the most love part, but the outdoor under cover seating in the back also rocks. Again, big tvs and decent sound. Built in heaters up above are strong enough to keep you warm.
Nachos, quesadillas, and burgers are all good. Fries and tots too. I like Guinness and they have it so I’m happy. But I think they have the full bar as well.
Parking is close by. Service is a little shady; not sure if it’s because they don’t have enough staff or what but it works; just flag ‘em down. Line coming for games after work. It can be monstrously busy and tough to find parking when there’s a Sharks game at the Tank.
Huge space! Lots of tvs, very cool that a small tv is mounted on the wall in some of the booths. Bar, table, booth, and outdoor seating. Cool decor. We only had the pub fries/chips, nicely salted. Enjoyed Pliny the Elder on tap. Great place to stop while in downtown San Jose.
Did not prepare my online order because they had disconnected from that service, but did not stop offering it.
The guy with the ponytail working tonight, Thursday 11/21, was extremely rude because we ordered drinks and asked if we should pay with him. He then got upset because my friend was putting on lipgloss while he dropped off the drinks.
He didn’t like us questioning him and asked the front door to escort us out and made the DJ pause the music until we left the bar.
An extremely immature and unnecessary move for someone who can simply ask for a card to keep a tab open.
We were recommended this bar by a friend and we can confidently say we would not be coming back nor recommending this pace again due to his rude remarks as we were exiting and lack of communication.

Only bad thing is the manager wanted to kick us out because my sister fell asleep while we were watching the game? How and why? Never heard of anything like that. I am also sure they will try to defend themselves for this.

My husband and I ordered drinks of their specials menu. The bill came and they did not honor the price. When we brought it to their attention, the bartender stated that we didn’t specify we wanted the special’s pricing. Absolutely absurd.
Don’t go there in the evening definitely unsafe my sister had her purse stolen cameras don’t even work shady af
