I go here basically every day, and usually get the rice bowl with brown rice, BBQ chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and kale. On occasion I’ll get the fries bowl, which is really good; crispy and fresh. It’s healthy, tasty, quick, and affordable food on campus. I would definitely recommend

Oh, the delicious Halal Shack.. I would give them 1000 stars if I could! I’ve always heard of Halal but never had the opportunity to try it until now. Halal Shack at SJSU is one of the best restaurant options that the Student Union offers! I fell in love with the BBQ chicken, and am pretty obsessed with the Naaanarito. All of the ingredients are consistently super fresh, and the employees are always so knowledgeable, sweet and friendly! I love being able to come back here every chance I get! Now I’m craving a Naanarito! ????

Halal Shack does really well in welcoming you to the unit. The food platter skills are quick and the portions are pretty good. Their hot bbq meat is really tasty and I like their fries. You definitely have a variety of options. Too bad the avocado is extra. Really tasty and delicious!
I was glad to hear the Halal shack offers a smaller bowl now! I grabbed some lunch and the BBQ chicken hits the spot every time - the fresh veggies and sauce ties the bowl together and always keeps me satisfied.
My niece always shared her bowl with me until now that they have small bowls available, perfect size and portions for me and by the way sweet potato bowl its the Best.
I had never eaten any other type of food that was not from my culture until I tried halal Shack, and now that rice bowl with hot bbq chicken it’s my favorite ❤️ much love to my bowl and halal shack food ?

Love this Mediterranean food! I heard abt it (and saw it!) thru fellow students eating and praising it in class at lunch time. They build a bowl for you--there's falafel balls, or assorted meats, beans, rice, chickpeas, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, much more--topped with your favorite dressings. I order mine smothered with the white sauce! It's tangy! There is so much food--I usually save the rest as a second meal. Hope Halal Shack sticks around at the SJSU Student Union!
