Horrible venue with police-style security. I drove all the way from Oakland to see a hardcore show only to meet a bouncer having a bad day. He wouldn't let me in because I walked past him initially on accident, because I couldn't see him! He was sitting on a small stool that wasn't by the main door at all. Everything I said he took the wrong way and kicked me out. I even told the security guy I meant no disrespect at all. I've never been there before in my life and I definitely will never come back. Horrible first impression for this venue 🤢🤮

When you go to the Ritz they do not serve food. Please eat something before going. Also do the research the best parking price. From the parking lots are really expensive. And some of them really cheap

My friends and I went to see System of a Clown (SOAC) last night at The Ritz, and they put on a great performance. They played a lot of awesome System of a Down songs and mixed in short mini-songs from other artists, which kept things fun and interesting.
The crowd was energetic and in a great mood—the mosh pit was swirling like a tornado, but thankfully there were no fights. The opening band, El Guapo, did a decent job warming up the crowd for SOAC. Their set was all instrumental, with some backing tracks for vocals and sound effects. Personally, I prefer live vocals, but they still delivered a solid performance.
My only real complaint was about the bar. We ordered Long Island Iced Teas, but they were served in small plastic cups. These drinks are usually served in a Collins glass or at least a tall plastic cup, so that was a bit disappointing.
Overall, though, it was a fun night of great music and good vibes.

Excellent Venue in Downtown San Jose with helpful staff. You will have a great time there.
I pre purchased tickets to the Teenage Bottlerocket AGES 16 AND UP concert. Brought my kid with me so he could finally experience some of his favorite songs live. The evening of the show at the time doors open with no advance warning they decide the show is 21 and up. I wasn’t the only parent turned away. I wasn’t the only kid they disappointed. It’s extremely unprofessional and unfair to those who finally had a chance to show their kids how cool and fun a concert is. To have their kid look forward to this event all day and be turned around at the door. It’s embarrassing. It deserves more than an apology passed down to the bouncers who are just doing their job. These kids are running out of chances at every corner and The Ritz just handed them yet another middle finger in life.
Do better!
I don't believe there's food there but the place was awesome I had a really good time there. Front door person was a little rude. But the rest were awesome thank you so much

Great place for live music

Intimate concert venue that books cool acts and slings drinks at top speed so you don’t have to spend all night waiting at the bar, not that the sound or view is bad from there.

Came here on 10/20 to see the band Warbringer. The staff members were pretty awesome to deal with. Me and my girlfriend ordered plenty of drinks and the bartender Craig really spotlighted for us. He was friendly, politely talkative, attentive, and quick. He also made the yummiest drinks! It’s really important when there is a good balance between alcohol and sweet- he delivered both with our multiple requests every time. I asked some other questions about the venue and he was able to convey all the information swiftly. Sorry if this sounds like AI I’m just drunk I k the bathroom. Thanks Craig for enlightening me and my girlfriend’s night better than other bar/venues.
