Came a few months ago and loved this place but came back again today and they were closed because of a health violation :( You can access the health violation report online and it's pretty gnarly (dead rats, mice droppings, cockroaches, etc)

Five stars because this place is both good and cheap, which is rare today. Simple, straightforward menu with 11 different banh mi options. All $7.50, cash only. I got the #3 combination banh mi which came with pork, pate, and another meat that I honestly don't remember (but it was good). The sandwich is pretty huge, I got full off of half and saved the rest. Two meals for $7.50, can't beat it. The service was really fast and my sandwich was out within 5 minutes. The bread was fresh and so were all of the ingredients inside. The portion for everything is really generous. Definitely a solid top 3 banh mi spot for me.

I love this place! I used to get it before work (occasionally) and one time my coworker asked me to bring him one. In the next coming weeks, it was tradition for me to get Thien Huong sandwiches for ALL of my coworkers 1-2 a week (we work in Walnut Creek btw). My coworker likes to joke and says he would move to SJ just for the sandwiches lol.Overall I would say that the flavors just taste better here than at their competitor Duc Huong. All the sandwiches I've tried have been yummy. This place is so underrated!!! Love the ladies working here too btw. They're so nice and they're super quick!!

Saw some great reviews and wanted banh mi so this is where I chose. The parking lot is small and the area is gritty. I walked inside and was harassed by flies. There isn't much to the place; half empty fridges. a ordering counter, no seating, and high walls to obscure your view of the food preparation. I got a pork belly and a grilled pork but with extra meat. They give you the option of veggies on the side which is nice if you have a journey ahead. The pork belly is. Char Siu style, nicely textured, and good flavor. The grilled pork is really good, packs a lot of flavor and is well paired with the veggies. The bread on these sandwiches is really really good, so light and airy with the flaky crunchy crust.

Delicious sandwiches! My friend's MIL has ordered sandwiches from here for the grandkids' party so I copied the idea for my kid's birthday party (for the adults). They will cut sandwiches in half for you and have veggies separate so the bread doesn't get soggy.

Their Bahn Mi sandwiches are cheap, big, and delicious! I ordered takeout over the phone which was huge to just get in and out! I loved that they packaged the pickled veggies and toppings separately so a) they didn't get soggy and b) kids can customize with or without jalapeño, cilantro, etc. plus the bread is so soft on the inside but crispy on the outside... YUMWe tried:Grilled pork - soooooo good!! You HAVE to try it. Slightly sweet but juicy pork that goes so great with the pickles veggies. You have to try if you love Bahn Mi!!! And who doesn't????Check out the full video review at "This Japanese American Life" YouTube if you're curious!

Whenever we're in the area, we have to pick up a few banh mi to go! My favorite is the combination (surprisingly as my go to is usually grilled pork). I prefer the combo over the grilled pork here. It's so flavorful and tasty. This is probably one of my favorite banh mi spots but it's a bit far from me so we get at least 4 to 6 (maybe 8 lol) and ask them to separate the veggies so it does get soggy. Heat it up in an air fryer. Highly recommend!!

The warm bread and nicely seasoned/marinated meat is what sets their sandwiches apart from the dozens of other businesses selling the same thing in the area. $7 for a sandwich is not bad for a quick lunch or snack during the day. Would love to come again to try the other menu items.

The place was suggested by a friend. If you want to get snacks or plain bread, come early! We have came by twice getting different sandwiches to go and eat the next day. Every time the sandwiches were good even if heated up later. Highly suggested!

Got the Banh Mi Thit Nguoi (head cheese) with extra pate. The baguette itself is really good, lightly warmed up and toasted. Fillings were a great ratio, though I generally prefer my pickled daikon/carrots a bit more...pickled? It gets busy in the afternoon, looks like a meet up spot for lots of high school students. Quick service, would come back!

This sandwich shop is located on the busy street of Capitol expressway of San Jose. First time trying out this Vietnamese sandwich shop, this place is amazingly unbelievable!! Ordered roasted pork sandwiches with black tea! The sandwich is made fresh upon order. The bread is baked with roasted pork, also comes with fresh sliced radish, sliced carrots and cilantros. You can ask for sugar level for your drink. Overall, everything tasted delicious and I will not hesitate to come back again!
