I was in town a few weeks ago when the 49ers were playing the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game. On that Sunday morning, while waiting for my Uber outside the airport, I had a group of visiting Detroit Lions fans ask me, "Where is there to eat in the place (San Jose)?". I told them they had to the The Littlest Little Italy. I advised them to get a sandwich at Torino Panino, get a slice of Bibo's pizza next door, and enjoy their lunch outside on the back patio. I also suggested that they go with The Godfather sandwich and told them my lady friend always gets a Caprese Shaker. I went on to tell them that the service is always top-notch, all the food is great, and the overall vibe of the place is very cool. Why would I help out Detroit Lion fans? I would hope if I was in Detroit to see the Niners, that someone there would provide me with a great restaurant suggestion as well.

Tucked away in The Littlest Little Italy of San Jose, Torino Panino is a charming eatery that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With a cozy ambiance and impeccable service, this hidden gem offers a delectable menu of Italian sandwiches.

I always say that the bread is what separates a good sandwich from a great sandwich. Torino Panino understands this all too well. I was walking by and noticed this place that I hadn't seen before. decided I would give it try. man, was I lucky to discover this place. I ordered up the "true romance" (some people say that I resemble Christian Slater from the movie - figured that was right move for this sandwhich)the sausage and them sweet peppers, perfectly grilled onions all tucked into that incredible Italian roll. forget about it! great food, and service was on point. the surroundings were clean and well kept. prices were fair and reasonable for the portion size. you can tell that the owners really care about this place. from the menu to the arrangement of the patio area - lots of room to spread out and get your eat on.I'll be back downtown in a couple of weeks, and this is my new spot. I'm eyeballing the 'like mike' meatball sub for my next visit. go sharks!

I love the food a Torino Panino! So much so that I had my 50th birthday there this year. The service is great and the french fries to die for. The outside heated eating area is quaint and you feel transformed into a little garden in the city. I love getting a glass of wine from Ancora Vino and biting into my favorite sandwich, The Godfather. There are also several selections from the other vendors there all under one roof, The Littlest Little Italy. Perfect spot in a great location. Highly recommend

The new sandwich shop and italian goods retail here is amazing. I've tried a few different sandwiches as well as the items from the full menu. Everything is delicious. Service is great.

We stopped by here to meet some friends before the Depeche Mode concert at SAP Center. It was a perfect place to do so. We didnt want to go somewhere in which we could get stuck waiting while our show started. We were able to find a table in the heated patio, get a glass a wine and grab a good variety of food! We had such a good time that we ironically were late to our show because we stayed too long purposely! We will definitely be back next time were in the area.

Looking for the best Italian sandwich and Italian products you can find without traveling the world?? Then look no further, this sandwich shop and restaurant is by far one the best. Great service, knowledgeable owners and staff and just overall great ambiance. Outdoor and indoor, dine in or grab to go... check out their indoor restaurant as well Littlest Little Italy. Fun for all occasions!

We were excited to find this place advertising "authentic Italian sandwiches"! I grew up in Chicago and I know what an authentic Italian beef tastes like. We hoped that it would be good, but it was disappointing.First of all, the price was shocking! $16.95 for a sandwich is high, but then when you add an 18% "service" charge to it, our 2 sandwiches came out to $43.05 (with about $3 tax). $43 for 2 sandwiches and NO SERVICE! You order at the counter, this is a no-frills sandwich shop, and they bring it to your table when it's ready. $6 for bringing it to our table - geez! Our sandwiches were served in paper baskets (like in a fast-food place) with plastic utensils (we had to ask for).We ordered the "Chicago Way" beef sandwiches. It was NOT an authentic Italian beef sandwich. The beef was cooked right, sliced right, looked right - but it lacked the flavor you get in Chicago. It needed pepper and whatever spices that are normally used. And then, there was no giardiniera! Instead, they used flavorless garlic cloves (we couldn't identify what they were; thought it was some cubed tuber vegetable). And some little red sweet peppers:( Wrong, wrong, wrong. The au jus was almost flavorless, too. The only thing they got right was the bread - it was perfect! Their menu says it's freshly baked. It tastes like the classic Turano bread.I also went next door and got a glass of Nebbiolo wine. It was good, but it was a small pour. And my $14 glass of wine, ended up costing me over $18!!! Because again, they charged 18 or 20% "service" charge. $2.80 is a lot to charge for pouring a glass of wine.My husband and I are people who tip well. But we pay for REAL service. In Summary: We left feeling ripped off by Torino Panino and Ancora Vino. We will vote with our wallets and we will NOT be back! I suggest that more diners start refusing to pay these ridiculous NON-SERVICE fees and go to other restaurants - there are many - that don't charge these fees and give you value for your dining dollars.

Ordered two Italian beef sandwiches, potato salad and two lemon drinks. $65.00 including the 18% service charge. The sandwiches were average, potato salad not my favorite. There is no table service and you order at the counter, but they charge an 18% service charge, which I felt was a bit excessive. It's these excessive service charges that are turning people away from restaurants. I won't be returning anytime soon!

I dont know why this place isn’t more popular other than it’s location, the Italian Godfather sandwich is the best I’ve had in the entire South Bay Area. The ingredients are good and the bread beats every other sandwich shop I’ve been too here. This place needs more attention.
