Excellent food, fantastic selection of wines and craft beers, and a friendly, welcoming environment. This is my go-to bar to meet with friends. I highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I think the food was just ok for the total price spent. It was good but not extraordinary. I was a bit disappointed in the artichoke deep, very greasy, and the bruschetta were quite salty. The ratio quality/price is not really there for me.I came back the following day for some weird reasons, and we had the meet and cheese board (nice presentation and nice assortment/ amount of food) and the arugula salad, and that was great compared to the previous day. The sangria is just a meh though and totally not worth it. The wine my friend had was pretty good - Grenache. This would definitely not be a regular place for me because I have other places similar price way that I enjoy much better, food wise and drink selection/wise. I think the best option there personally was the meat and cheese boards. I can't comment of the beer, didn't have any. There was also the singer on Saturday night, which was a pleasant surprise.I am just giving it a 3 because most likely, I was not wowed enough and will not make an effort go back. By I am sure some people love this place, which is nice if you live in the neighborhood, it's easy.

You are walking around the neighborhood, catching the San Jose sunset and you come across a bar. Your friendly neighborhood bar.You walk in, greeted by friendly servers, eager to seat you. Instantly you feel welcomed and warm inside. You walk over to your seat, looking around, captivated by rustic vibes. The music, loud enough to appreciate and low enough to engage in friendly conversation. Glancing down at your menu, you see a variety of finger foods and drinks. You decide to enjoy a Margarita pizza. A yummy vegetarian option, covered in a sweet balsamic glaze. Your server comes to check in on you, they are full of smiles and service.Something about this bar gives you that safe, comfortable feeling, a place where you can watch a game or two, go on a date, read a book, make new friends and socialize. I 10/10 recommend this spot. They have events from time to time, live music, a variety of get togethers. Come alone or grab a group of friends. I’ve been here so many times in 2023, it’s became one of my frequent spot.

It is fascinating how customers this day and age continue to have unrealistic expectations of bars and restaurants. How some continue to be so self-consumed they refuse to acknowledge the situation of others. Hop and Vine provides a quaint yet lively atmosphere, whilst ensuring its patrons are never thirsty. The beers are ever rotating and never lacking for variety. The quality of beer is only surpassed by the service staff and their hospitality. Jamie is a pleasure every time I frequent the establishment, which is a minimum 2x a week. She is attentive, super sweet, and a wonderful conversation. Never disappointed from my experience, whilst H&P have never failed to meet expectations. Hop and Vine is on the short list of my recommended bars in San Jose. And there are plenty on the shit list. Cheers

This is the perfect local neighborhood bar. Beautiful ambiance, super friendly and personable servers. A great selection of organic wines as well!

Lovely small locals-wine bar. Staff is friendly, food is solid and a nice selection of reasonably priced wines. A great place to meet friends for dinner or a stop en route. Parking is easy nearby and lots of restaurants nearby.

Great service/people but the pricing on the menu really needs to match what you are charged. I ordered a$12 glass of wine and the charge ended up being $15.30. Thankfully, taxes aren't that high here in California (yet), and I didn't see any of those annoying service charges on the menu, so it seems like they raised their prices on their POS system but never updated the menu. Not cool. I was too tired to complain over a few bucks and just paid and left, but hopefully the owner sees this and fixes it.

I was really hoping this was going to be a real good neighborhood place to grab a beer and bar food. I guess I was just having too high of expectations. Our party of 4 walked down to Hop & Vine from our house a few blocks away. We are fairly new to the area and are trying all the restaurants nearby. This is the great thing about living in the Rose Garden area. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. I was surprised that they did not have a larger variety of beers and wine. I was expecting a far greater variety if you're going to call your business hop and vine. We each had 3 drinks, and did sample both beers and wines that they had. Again, their inventory is not unlike most standard restaurants. The food is very much bar food fried food, charcuterie, and small pizzas. We tried 6 different items to share. All were pretty basic and nothing good to celebrate....unfortunately. I could see meeting a friend here for a beer and a bowl of their truffle popcorn, and then walking to another nearby restaurant for dinner. They are only open after 4pm, so no day drinking here.

Wine selection was pretty good but the menu items weren't. I dont mind dropping money at a wine bar, as cheese and meat plates are my favorite thing, but the selection was pretty pedestrian.

Hop & Vine is FINE! (Even better than my simple rhyme) This is the old wine affairs and has transformed many times over the years. The newest entity is Hop & Vine ... and it is great. Fantastic selection of beers and wine . Chill vibe and occasional live music. There is even a video DJ who is fun and creative on Friday evenings. I've been going to this spot for years. A great location super duper staff.
