Bad to the Bone BBQ

Their website automatically added 18% gratuity to our online pickup order because it’s the default amount when you order on their business page. It’s located at the bottom of the page, way below where you add your credit card so it’s not noticeable. The manager said he will contact the website developer to relocate the tip option and refunded us for the $8.82.

Food is AMAZING but that definitely needs to be fixed. It’s hard to give a bad review because everything else is so good. We still love this place.

I tried the trio steet taco so I could really get the barbecue flavor and juices of the meats. I had the pulled pork, chicken and paid $3 extra to have the brisket.

Unfortunately, the barbecue here is just dry meat with lots of sugar. The brisket was so dry, flavorless and had so many burnt ends that tasted twice burnt then twice reheated. The chicken was stringy and severely dried out with many jerky like pieces. The pulled pork had a funky smell and after taste.

Sorry but not a good choice all.
I do want to mention, the young ladies at the counter were very nice.

The brisket melted in your mouth. It was the most tender brisket I ever had. Not tough in the slightest. The Mac cheese was heavenly. The BBQ sauce was a perfect blend of tangy and sweet. The cornbread was soft, fluffy, and buttery. The beans were incredible. I wish the pulled pork pulled a little better. Everything was soooooo good. Best BBQ I’ve had in SoCal. Very close to the level of quality BBQ I was use to in Nashville TN

I'm convinced people that rate this place 5 stars do not know what good BBQ is. There's a reason there is a line around the block at real barbecue places in PROPER SJC.

If you like mediocre bland meats that are prepared and cooked incorrectly, that are saturated in sugar and require their sugary BBQ sauce to make the meat even palatable... go here.

Want ACTUAL BBQ then look no further than by the Mission on Camino Capistrano.

Ordered pulled pork. Dry as can be. No BBQ. Had to add our own from home. Same with the Brisket. Worst we have ever had there by far. Sad!!!

I was a little confused about the menu and how to order, but this place is amazing, will definitely go back, we always get this food for takeout and this was my first time dining in, I sat in the patio, even though the place wasn’t busy, but they had a lot of dirty tables and leftover food in the patio that attract the flies ! But still will go back

I love BBQ joints and this one fail the only think I would recommend it's the mac and cheese, and it was expensive, $25 for 3 ribs that where terrible, that's crazy...

What a great BBQ smokehouse! You simply won't find better ribs or brisket or prime rib anywhere in So. Cal! Melt in your mouth meats and great sides. I personally love the fried ochre and the onion rings!

This place has very good food, fresh deserts and Erlene makes the best drinks, try her Witches Brew & Black Widow Margarita 👍🏼 oh and her personality ! sweetheart. 😬👍🏼😬
