We go here quite often because it is, without a doubt, the BEST Indian food around OC. The reason being is it is owned & operated by beautiful Nepalese folks. Bachchu, Reenjen, Bisnu, Murari (the best cook) etc. will take great care of you and completely satisfy your culinary needs. Trust me!!!!

Himalayan Taste is hands down one of our favorite restaurants. The tiki masala, basmati rice, and naan are absolutely unbeatable—every dish is packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. The entire team is from Nepal, and they’re some of the kindest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. Great food, great people—this place is truly special.

They offer unique Himalayan dishes in addition to typical Indian food. You'll have a large variety to choose from and everything is very flavorful.

They are also excellent at customizing vegetarian orders.

Hands down the best Himalayan food I’ve ever had. The butter chicken and lamb biryani are absolutely incredible. Even the basics; the naan, the turmeric rice, the sauces, amazing.

Great restaurent for Nepalese food.

This review is for the SJC location. Service was nonexistent. The food took a long time to come out and once the runner dropped it off, the server never came by to see if everything was OK. We asked for more water, which the server brought, but again no dialogue about how the food was or if we needed anything else. Chicken Tikka was dry and food overall was nothing special. We were excited to try this place due to the great reviews. We won’t be going back. 2/28/25.

I am a big fan of Indian food and have tried many restaurants, but this was by far the worst experience I've had. I ordered the Lamb Biryani, and it was a disaster—extremely salty, the meat was completely raw, and the rice was dry and flavorless. My husband ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, and it was equally disappointing—way too oily and lacking any real flavor. The rice served with it was plain, with no curry or vegetables, which felt incomplete.

On top of that, the table was messy, and the overall dining environment was unclean. I had high expectations, but this restaurant failed on every level. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or even decent Indian food.

Food was good, but perhaps not quite as good as previously. It may have been a fluke this time. The food can be made of halal ingredients if you ask.

Quality of the meat is really inferior. I mentioned it to them a couple of times before with no avail. I don’t understand why they skimp on the meat quality when they charge almost $20 per plate. Meat is hard and chewy and they don’t clean it from all the crap that’s on it to add volume. I’m really disappointed.
