This place was bomb. Got cold brew, grapefruit, all the dips, chicken zaatar, muhammara & the morrocan. All was great, service was amazing

Came in from out of town and second time here and it didn’t disappoint after a year away. From dip and cocktails thru main meal and chocolate crème dessert it was spot on with excellent service (thanks Jesse!) and a creative inclusive vibe that made you want to soak in the place more. We enjoyed it so much this time we are going back for breakfast this morning.

Sat for 10 mins before they took drink (coffee) order then 10 more before food order.... Took another 20 mins before they came out to tell us the kitchen was backed up and that it would be 25 mins before food came out. They then offered to bring us (and charge us) for faster food (Not the eggs and toast we ordered) but bread and hummus or nuts and olives.
No thanks.
When food came out over an hour after we sat down, it was ok but not worth the wait.
No tabasco/hot sauce for eggs except the housemade for $1/serving sauce.
Urban trendy cold hard ethos.

Update to Owner Response:
Tell me when you sit me at the table in a 1/3 empty restaurant that my wait will be 45 mins if I want hot food.
Offer me complimentary bread or nuts while I wait an extended unannounced/unexpected time frame.
Don't charge me the $1 for a 0.5oz of hot sauce when your kitchen is running behind.
Don't let my waitress sit at the bar where I can see her eating food on her break while I wait.
All of these are solid options that would have made my experience (and review) different.

First of all I would like to appreciate their amicable service. Everyone’s here is showing more care towards customer satisfaction and they are very attentive. The food itself was super good and fresh. Some of the best vegetarian food I have tasted in Mediterranean cuisine. We ordered a ton of food and we didn’t realize the portion size. Beware of the portion size Y’all. I think the portion in each dish is good enough for two people. Out of all My fav was the focaccia bread and the 5 dips and the sweet potato fries. Overall I was very satisfied with everything and will definitely visit this location again. Disclaimer - it gets pretty busy so I would advice you to plan wait times ahead

Was visiting OC to see a friend and he recommended I took my partner here for date night.

Such a good suggestion. Greeted by very welcoming staff and seated at the bar where I was seen to by a lovely barman.
We took his lead on cocktails and the food and their recommendations were perfect. My fav was the zatsr fried chicken and corn ribs 🌽 🍗

My top recommendation for date night in OC

The attention to detail at Mayfield is above and beyond. The gorgeous interior of the restaurant is one thing, but the food is another! You can tell the team at Mayfield that curates the menu, deeply cares about providing something unique yet approachable! The flavors are so decadent and flavorful ..and while tour ranting your meal you just so happen to also be in on of the more beautiful restaurants in OC. Well done Mayfield!!

Beautiful place. Nice full bar. The sourdough bread was bomb.
The recommended Shakshuka was too sweet and just meh. The recommended burger was too rich with the aioli and cheese. Could not gag it down. Really needed a tomato and more pickles to cut the richness. For a couple of very hungry foodies, it was a disappointment.

We were able to try about 5 of their dishes and each and every one was phenomenal with the unique flavors and ingredients that just elevated each dish! Such an incredible culinary experience and would love to go back. The dishes we ordered and shared were shashuka, burger, beef & Lamb Kofte Kebab Wrap,The Big Sabich Sando ... we would order all of these again but so many others we want to try next time...And the pistachio tiramisu... but we were too full (great portion sizes).

Simply one of the best meals you’ll have in OC— the plates are impeccable and you’ll want to sit at your table for hours and hours. We’ll be coming back forever and ever!!

Great place for vegetarians and their omnivore friends. Dinner served family style. Very flavorful dishes. Even my anti-veg brother enjoyed it. Room is a bit noisy but conversation is manageable in a small group.

A little pricey- we just went for drinks. But bright and perfect for a pre-show cocktail.
