What wouldve been a nice lunch was ruined by outdoor tile cutting and construction for the restaturant. There isnt an excuse to have this going on at noon during operating hours.

Searched all of South Orange County for a Monte Cristo and finally found it. I enjoyed the Monte Cristo and my wife ordered the burger. This place did not disappoint. Sitting on the patio was perfect for brunch. Service was exceptional. When visiting San Juan Capistrano I highly recommend Tavern by the Mission for brunch.

Sunday brunch menu was very diverse. The duck pate' was delicious! Definitely would recommend it! In addition our table had The Santa Fe Cesar salad, poke & prime rib sandwich, all delicious. Our server Lucas was great. He was Friendly, attentive & made great food recommendations! Nice when the server knows the menu. Overall we had a great lunch. Would recommend it. We will be back!!
Service by Jordan was excellent. Our dinner choices were the Filet with peppercorn sauce, Filet with Bernaise sauce and Chicken Picarra.....Meals were delicious.I My friend stated that the French onion soup was the best she ever had. I have four stars because one steak was not cooked as ordered and we had to send it back. There is an opportunity in the kitchen to help train the chefs learn proper doneness on Filet Mignon. Manager did check on us during our meal to ask if it was cooked property second time. Again. Excellent service. Indoor dining was very nice and comfortable. I highly recommend.
They have done a nice job remodeling. The inside bar area is better now. Love that they kept the fireplace. Drinks were great and our food was delicious. The double cut pork chop was really juicy and flavorful. Our server Ashley was really sweet and professional. We will be coming back!!!
We had dinner at the Tavern last night and plan on returning. Nice decor inside and a very diversified menu. I had the steak frites filet mignon with fries and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and I loved the fries. My mom had the French onion filet mignon also cooked perfectly. The filet is prepared in a small pan with thick onion soup and gruyere cheese on top, very yummy. Our server was Emma and she was super friendly and very attentive. All round, this place is a delight.
Absolutely love this restaurant! The patio seating is a lovely relaxing experience. A seat by the fire is great on a cooler evening, and lunch is always a treat. Delicious food, friendly and prompt service. The patio is dog friendly. Parking can be challenging at times so leave a bit of extra time for a short walk just in case.
They handle their gift cards in an unusual way-They reflect unused portion on their receipt without the total gift card number; therefore if you lost the original confirmation you lose the balance. Either poor choices or deliberate!!! Secondly the choice of indoor music appears to have been selected by a teenager. These experiences take away from a beautifully decorated interior and delicious food . We will not continue to use this restaurant as a result. E S San Juan

We all enjoyed delicious items from the Happy Hour menu, including the shrimp Dijon, the artichoke flatbread and the Tavern sliders. All came with generous portions, enough to share with the table. Stephanie gave us excellent service and made sure the food was satisfactory. It definitely was!
The food was very good, better than anticipated. Our server was very pleasant, could have been a bit more attentive, but he was busy. The real downside was a leaf blower that was cleaning the street right oustide of our patio table. We could not hear each other speak. One couple asked to be moved. I think our server or the waitstaff should have immediately moved us once the leaf blower started is work.
We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the beautiful music. My only complaint was the restaurant is still using some temporary folding chairs that need to go as they are very uncomfortable.
The service was very good and the food (0ver priced) was good, but the cocktails we ordered (Blackberry Mojito and White Sangria) were not so good. The wine list was over priced and our seating left much to be desired. Probably will not return.
I have been to this restaurant several times - fantastic food - atmosphere - our server - Bettie was outstanding - thank you Bettie for going above and beyond - you are amazing ! ♥️❤️
