first and foremost, let me say, the food is really good. They offer buffet, and if you don't want a buffet, you can order from the menu. I went the for the buffet. Even though the food is pretty good, I don't see myself coming on a regular basis. It's pretty expensive. I paid $90 bucks for two buffets, an orange juice, and a Jamaica water. The service was just okay for us. I only saw my waiter when he took out drinks order , and in the end, when I asked for my check.

Been coming here for years, but a recent order of super burritos unfortunately fell so below the quality I usually expected of El Portal that I decided to leave this review. It was a busy day, and I do understand that everyone is scrambling - but each order deserves the care and quality befitting of this establishment. You cannot just load up a burrito full of beans and sour cream and call it a Super Burrito - that's not right.

So I decided with the rising cost of eating out to start making my own carne asada and pollo asada. Thank god for Chef Merite seasoning and Tampico.

The flavors are genuinely home made to the taste.
Had the caldo de res - huge portions. The combo plates are on the large side too !

A Tex Mex favorite is available on the menu - potato fried tacos. Recommended !!!

Amazingly authentic Mexican food. Great weekend buffet with an excellent selection of food. Very good menudo, pozole, freshly made corn tortillas and great desserts. Fast, friendly, and professional customer service.

I went because I saw some videos that everything was very good, the truth is that the food leaves a lot to be desired, the salty nopales, the ceviche tasted old, the bathrooms were dirty, the lady who picked up our dishes brought a perfume that seemed like it was for a party a strong smell that honestly made my stomach turn with that smell it brought, for a restaurant the smells penetrate the food, the truth is it did not meet my expectations.

OMG!! There is a new sheriff in town. These 2 plates are FIRE SUPER YUMMY. THE one with the queso fresco is huge it can feed a family of 4 easy of a big guy like myself. The Horchata super creamy freshly made no refills but worth to buy the 2nd . There are resturants in the area that fail my expectation. This place should be your go to spot.
