As soon as you walk in you notice the cute interior. I love the aesthetic of the tables and vibe feels similar to mom and pop places I've been to in Japan except the lighting is nicer here.
Pretty orderly service, s/o to the one person waitress running the counter and tables and one person in the kitchen.
Foodwise, place smacks. Been here 2 times in the last 2 years. The quality of dishes I got are on par with overseas both times. Got the kaarage uson set and tofu soba. Mild flavors, but I love that nothing is over-seasoned it's just right imo.

*Out of towner review* The food here was really good! I got everything to go so I could eat by the ocean. Staff was super helpful and nice. I like the inside of the restaurant as well, I wish I could have eaten it there. Sushi was fresh with the right amount of sauces. The ramen was also very good. It was packed well to go for the broth, the noods were cooked well, and the pork was crispy! I would definitely go back👍🏼

Ramen was so good. I got the veggie tofu in miso broth. My partner and I shared the Mixed Tempura. The veggies were good but the breading was a little too oily for me. The ramen saved the day though. Worth coming back too.

Cute place with tasty food. Friendly service but they were a little too busy/overwhelmed while we were there (seemingly only one waitstaff for the whole restaurant). Everyone enjoyed their food a lot, and they were super nice to us! I wish I had tried the crepe cakes because they sounded so good, but we were too full from all the food already!

Their udon and ramen are delicious. Very flavorful broth (and so far we’ve never experienced dire thirst after which means they don’t add MSG since both my wife and I are sensitive to MSG).
They have make delicious bento boxes, with good variety of sides.
This is a simple and casual cosy place. Love the cute decor.All dishes were delicious. I really like the teriyaki unagi set, was tasty and cane with side dishes ( crab salad - not real crab, mashed potato’s, seaweed salad and miso soup). The big dollop of rice was shaped nicely. Service was standard.

This is a hidden gem in San Leandro. The environment is pretty and the food is tasty. No parking lots but street parking spots are ample. Highly recommend Takoyaki.
