This is kind of an out of the way spot which is taking over an old pho restaurant.I flew in late to Oakland airport, I need something warm and homey. Frankly, I was itching for a good ramen. Having lived in the Bay Area many years, I knew I could find something like that. This place wasn't too far off of my path, and it was late and they were still open.Walking in the place is fairly unassuming, yet there is still some customers there. Almost that closing. I asked quickly if it was too late to grab a ramen, the kind gal could be said please have a seat.Looking around, I saw several tables that were covered with dirty dishes and uneaten food. Well that wasn't necessarily a great first impression, at least they had a good rush.Sitting down I received a menu, and a glass of cold water.Looking at the menu there was a variety of ramens to choose from, and so I went to my go-to Tonkotsu. Almost nothing better than a Tonkotsu with Chashu late at night. Done that many times after hours in Tokyo.Anyway I had to add Gyoza as a side to complete it.First come out the gyoza, and their fried on all sides. That is not my first choice, and this is very common when prepared by non-Japanese. I bit in, and while decent, they were not great. But the Ramen came out, and I was very excited. It smelled right, the broth was piping hot, and there was several good pieces of Chashu.First, I sip the broth. It was good and hot. Second, I slurped the noodles, they are firm, warm, and perfect flavor. I grab a little sneak bite of a Chashu, It's warm, nice savory flavor, and a good thick piece. I'm pleased. I dive in. Before I knew it the ramen was gone, Gyoza, pretty much gone, and I was very full. The broth was nice and hardy, with a savory thick flavor, and simply it was a calming experience before hitting the hotel. For me my final question is always "would I go back?" The answer is a definite yes. Though I probably would not get the gyoza. But if you're looking for a good ramen, I recommend.

Very aesthetic restaurant! The ramen is really good not very salty, good for people with high blood pressure! Chashu is among the best I've had, extremely fatty and melt in your mouth! I would go again to try the sushi.

Well operated family style Japanese food. Excellent in every aspect. It's a bit surprising to see this quality in this place.

Got the tonkotsu ramen with spicy pork broth. I’d say it was pretty average flavor wise, and had a very low spice level. Not what I was expecting. Tons of other ramen places that are better in the area. We got take out, but the ambience at the restaurant was pretty cute.

Food it delicious, fish very fresh. Service was ok on a Saturday afternoon. But the place is noisy with equipment and refrigerators. Not a good place for a quiet meal. However, the poke bowl selection is incredible and their ingredients, especially the pickled vegetables were AMAZING and snappy. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it.

Great ramen, liked the teishoku as well, except the rice portion was so small.

Came here for Thursday dinner and we were the only ones dining in. Some people were ordering takeout and waited on the bench by the door for their idea. The interior of the restaurant was cute and well-organized and it felt very homey. The food presentation was beautiful and you could tell they care about appearance as much as taste. The tempura was crunchy and paired well with the dipping sauce and the side dishes for the teishoku set were delicious. My friends also enjoyed the sets that they ordered and we were full by the end of the meal. Definitely recommend this spot if you're craving Japanese food! :D

Yum! Hubby and I had a date day recently and stopped by Hanami for lunch. I ordered their ramen (sorry, can't remember which) and husband ordered their poke. We also got the okinomiyaki to share. The appetizer arrived quickly, along with gyoza on the house! The gyoza was SO nicely fried....probably the best I've had in awhile. Both dishes were good and I started to regret the ramen...ah well, too late. Our poke and ramen arrived soon after and the portions were very generous! We dug in and really enjoyed our food. The ramen broth was very flavorful and the noodles were cooked just right, while the poke was fresh and veggies were delicious. The food sent us both into food coma but we were happy and full leaving. Definitely would come back! The service was great too--kudos to the waitress who had to deal with an argumentative family while we were there.

It feels like we went to Japan for a second!!! Easily the most authentic home style Japanese food I've had in California period. The food is so well-prepared, and you can tell each component was prepared with so much care and detail. The teishoku is a really good bang for your buck, and the agedashi tofu blows you away with a silky texture, crunch, and perfect amount of sauce. The sashimi was all really fresh, and the pork Katsu was our favorite. Tender pork with a good crunch and peppery flavor to the batter. The ambience is really homey and cozy. Not too fancy, but makes you feel like you're at a mom and pop shop. They treat you so well here and the food came really quickly! Next time, I really want to try their poke bowls. Can't wait!

That day, we just passed by here and saw a Japanese restaurant here, but in fact, I was very surprised that we could stop and come in for dinner. The service attitude was very good and the decoration of the store was also cute. Japanese-style food attracted us very much. We like it very much, and we will come back to enjoy dinner next time. Appreciated!
