I was hungry and didn't want to go far from home so I decided to check out and support a local eatery. This cafe is kinda hard to see from the street since it's in a retail space underneath an apartment homes. The lady there (I believe she's the owner) and her helper was very friendly and helpful in helping me with the menu. I ordered a side of Mac n cheese and a side order of meatballs (I believe it's turkey or chicken meatballs) and both was DELISH!!! They also had a slice of sweet potato pie and a slice of peach cobbler... I got the peach cobbler which was also very DELISH! All 3 items came up to about $10... very reasonable and totally worth it. Def hit the spot.

I was looking for a quiet place to do some reading and eat something tasty. i found it with I Am. the owner was friendly, helpful and answered all my questions. I decided to go with a roasted pork breakfast sandwich. she had just taken the roasted pork out the oven. she asked me what kind of cheese did I want (cheddar or pepper jack). I also ordered potatoes and onions and a hot chocolate. the ambience was perfect and I was able to read and do some work. I received great portions, so much so that I was full off of a half sandwich and brought the other half home to my husband. he said that this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches that he has ever had. I will definitely be coming back!!
My favorite neighborhood coffee spot, although I go for more than the coffee. It a great place to chill and grab a great sandwich. On Fridays I get the vintage breakfast - eggs, grits, bacon, and a biscuit. Reminds me of my childhood!

If you want great service, with great atmosphere this is the place. I was traveling and stopped in Ashland for something to eat. The laughter while friends stopped to see the owner was infectious! Real home look, real home feel! Delicious Food! *would definitely recommend!

I just started a cleanse today...but happened to get a chance to stop in I Am today. The meat looked great. The shrimp being prepped behind the counter for shrimp and grits smelled garlicky and great. The desserts.... But.... on a cleanse. So I ordered the rice and veggies bowl. It was super simple: brown rice, cabbage, broccoli, mushies. Could it be just that? Salt pepper butter... Perfect! So tasty and perfectly cooked. I love healthy peasant food and this meal is cheap enough to come here instead of making it at home. And if they do this good with simple veggies I am really looking forward to their regular meals are like!
