I tried this location and I think they
Can do better, my dish was skimpy, hash brown was smaller than used to be, ham very small. About service? Well we got seated at a partially clean table. In general portions are not very good neither service. The waiter was just trying to comply with the task, but I know could be better. Over priced side of hash brown and skimpy. We are Not coming back for sure.

Letās start with the obvious: IHOP has pancakes in the name. Youād think that means something special⦠but every IHOP Iāve been to leaves me disappointed. San Leandro is no different. The pancakes taste like a box mix you just add water to. Crepes looked nice but had the same problem: no flavor.
This location also felt a bit dark, and service was slow. Not terrible, just underwhelming. So 2 stars... a little below the already āaverage IHOP experience.ā
If it called itself a 24-hour diner, Iād say 4 stars easy. But putting pancakes front and center sets the bar higher⦠and they donāt clear it. Even Pelton CafĆ© down the street does them better. Pelton is unfortunately packed all the time.

Donāt get me wrong, the food is pretty delicious here but the atmosphere and service of this place can get pretty bad. Especially when the managers treat their employees like crap. I donāt work there but by the looks of it the managers donāt know whether to set their employees to bust down tables, handle food orders, or clean dishes. Breaks my heart seeing the employees being treated poorly by their higher ups. If you plan on working here, be prepared to be treated like nothing.

Wow, from the second we stepped in, Emily greeted us with a smile, took us to a table and ensured that we had beverages right away. Even though this was a busy Sunday morning, we felt very welcome and attended to. The dip in the food rating is due to my Benedict with fully cooked yolks, but again, itās a busy Sunday and for that to be the only concern, the team as a whole is on point. Jesus was very efficient and has great timing for check inās, talk about a multi-tasker!
On our way out, I was unsure where to pay the bill, both the manager and Emily immediately offered help to get us out and on with our day.
After having a few in consistent experiences at another location, we are so excited to know that our new neighborhood IHOP has an incredible team and will be our new go-to
Thank you Emily and team!
Ordered thru DoorDash and driver told me electricity out , how , been waiting for food more then hour and half
Only 1 server on. Waited a few minutes to be seated. Order the problano omelet. Hayward makes a better dish. Skimpy on the avacado. Never asked to refill drink. All in all go to the Hayward location for better service and atmosphere.
Waited for 15 minutes and we didn't get any service, taking my business someplace else
Good š
It took long just to make a milkshake and they did a smoothie but there was only for one day that they're ice cream machine was broken but the bacon was good
Restaurantji Recommends
I have eaten IHOPE in numerous locations but this area is not that a lot of people. But I have ordered regular burger and onion rings but I forgot to take a photo. It was good and there so many meals to choose from. However, this is my first time ordering a sundae with waffle and it was not what I expected. I expected like bigger but it was not that much.
Food was cold as well as the coffee. Had to wait a long time for coffee refill that was cold. It was very cold in the restaurant. Never going back. The I Hop in Pittsburg was much better.
Excellent service and delicious food. Customer service is phenomenal, short wait and quick service. I recommend it šš»
Great all together, friendly server, good food, and fast service!!
This was our second time going to the IHop in San Leandro. The first time was when it first opened and then today. We got there around 11:40. We were seated right away and coffee was brought very quickly. The restaurant was NOT crowded. The waiter came almost immediately and I told him that I needed a couple more minutes. Well - that was a great big mistake. That couple more minutes turned into twenty minutes of waiting and the waiter NEVER came back. I asked the bus boy if he could get our waiter. The bus boy looked around both the back of the restaurant (where the cooking happens) and walked all around the restaurant. Our waiter was no where to be found! After being at IHop for 45 minutes and not having the waiter come to take our order - our patience ran out! We got up and went to the front desk to say we were leaving and would like to pay for the coffee. The front desk person went to find our server to get the receipt, I suppose. After awhile she came back and said she was sorry and the coffee was free. We left without eating and very disappointed. We like to support our local businesses. But, with service like this, and once again - it was NOT busy at all, we won't be going back.
