It is definitely the authentic! The best Shao La/Cantonese BBQ(烧腊) in the east bay area!

I tried Jin Gege's Rice And Hong Kong Soy Sauce Chicken, and it's one of their top dishes. The chicken is wonderfully marinated, bursting with flavor that truly hits the spot. However, I did notice that some parts of the chicken were a tad dry, which was a bit disappointing. Despite this, the overall experience was great, and I would certainly recommend giving it a try if you're in the mood for some Hong Kong Soy Sauce Chicken.

Went here for dinner with my wife Sunday night because Fusion Delight was packed. We walked in, there were a few tables available and got seated quickly. A mandarin speaking staff came by and gave us a tablet to order. While navigating the e-menu, I accidentally clicked the back button and got locked out of the app, requiring a PIN to regain access. I was gonna look for help. Maybe the tall skinny guy at the counter noticed and came by to help immediately which I initially appreciate. Unfortunately, he was rude. He literally told me not to "blindly clicking around" in Cantonese as if I am an incompetent user. The menu app is designed in a way making it natural to use the back button. The rest of meal wasn't really enjoyable any more. I was planning to tip them 10% but they have a mandatory 15% service charge. For the food, we ordered 3 dishes, a combination BBQ plate with soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork and steam chicken, a fatty beef tomato soup with rice noodle add-on, and a pan-fried garlic snow pea leave. Despite expectations for quality BBQ at Jin GeGe, the tomato soup and snow pea leaves stole the spotlight. The soy sauce chicken and steam chicken were average and could be found elsewhere, while the BBQ pork is disappointing with a taste resembling boiled meat with sauce applied afterward. With a total bill of $96 after the mandatory service charge and tax, the overall experience felt overpriced, and I do not plan on returning.

Food was cold. Service was terrible. We waited 70 minutes for 2 dishes. They added 15% tips on bill. They definitely don’t deserved any tips.

The food is pricy but delicious, restaurant is very clean and service good. Not crowded when we arrived slightly after 11am on a Sunday.

The spicy fish and the Cantonese bbq pork are my gotos. Really good taste and value. The robot waiter is a fun touch.

I have tried this place numerous times since it is close to where I live and the food tastes good and is consistent. My usials are the soy sauce chicken and bbq pork. The roasted pork tastes good too but I wish the pork skin could be more crunchy. For this reason I don't think I will order the roasted pork again, unless I really crave for roasted pork. The eating area is clean. However the reason I'm not giving it a five star is because the staff seems very unmotivated and lacks interest to work as if they are underpaid or something. Every time I went there for Togo I had to wait a long time even during a non busy time. Yesterday I phoned in first hoping to shorten my potential wait time. I went there to pick up my order after 15-20 mins. I paid for my order and still had to wait a long time given that I only ordered the simple dishes like a couple of rice plates. The total wait time was over 40 mins. AND it was not a busy time for them at all. Another customer ahead of me was also waiting and she finally went up and asked about her order. Then we realized that our orders were just sitting on the back table. The staff didn't even bother to ask or check with us at all when the orders were ready! I normally tip for togos but will not do so anymore for this place.

First time trying this place, it was very good. The person who took me here has been here multiple times and said out of the many times she's been here, this time has been the most delicious. The wonton was made very fresh, noodle was very yummy, the soy sauce chicken was tender and the pork (I believe).Everything was 5 stars to my likingly. Hopefully the next time I come back the taste will be the same.

There were two of us showing up at 4pm on New Year's day. Restaurant was not busy: a few tables and a few people ordering to go. We were seated right away with an ipad to order food. I read that their house specials is soy sauce chicken. Green beans and the steamed spicy yellow croaker are not Cantonese food but they were also somewhat marked popular from reviews I've read. Plus we ordered wonton noodle. Soy sauce chicken: tender and flavorful, with sauce and honey braised beans. Both of us liked this dish the most. Green beans: deep fried first then stir fried with ground pork and aromatics. Quite authentically done with good aroma, even my mate who's sensitive to garlic liked it. Yellow croaker: fish is not fresh of course as this kind of fish is not local, the sauce is a bit too garlicky for us. Wonton noodle: good portion and wontons seemed fresh and tasty. Noodles are cooked al dente, but not very chewy kind as in very authentic cantonese wonton noodle. Probably was not made with ducks' egg yoke. We paid $87 for four items after mandatory 15% service charge. Decent quality food, service was speedy and place was clean. I have seen it previously quite busy with waiting line during lunch and dinner peak hours. As we left the place at 5, occupied tables doubled and steady flow of customers coming in to order bbq items to go or be seated for dinner. Overall, a good place to stop by if in San Leandro for no fancy yet good tasty food. Just avoid the fish

We ordered the combination pot which comes with half fish with preserved vegetables and the spicy beef. It was on a priced side ($42 as I remember), but it tasted so good and worth the price. We also ordered the bbq pork and the roast duck, they both tasted good. For dessert, we ordered the oolong grass jelly with red bean which was really good. Will definitely go back and try their different dishes

Another lesson learned today when ordering food.... Make sure to ask them to read your orders back before handing over your credit card! Story goes like this. I asked cashier to place a to go order as follow: 1/2 soy sauce chicken, 1/2 salted baked chicken, an order of bbq pork, and a cold milk tea no ice. I was given a total and got a recipe for the credit but not the order. When I received my order, I got a receipt attached to the bag of my order. But what I got was as follow: BBQ pork (which is correct). Bbq duck (which is wrong, I never asked for a duck) and a hot milk tea with less sugar. I speak Cantonese and it was completely done in Cantonese. Both cashier and I did not have communication problems. It was not that busy at the time I placed my order, there wasn't even a line to place order. How was completely shocked when I see what was ordered for me... I only got one item correctly from the four items I wanted to order . Next time I should pay more attention to what I pay for and have them read the order back to me before making a payment. The quality of the food and taste made up for the stars given.

If you're a fan of spicy Sichuan flavors, this is the spot to go! The flavors are authentic, aromatic with peppercorn, and spicy. I personally loved the pickled fish dish that made my lips pucker in the best way possible. Be ware that there is skin on the fish filets but you can't taste it! The mapo tofu was great and filled with flavor. It paired perfectly with the claypot rice. The star of the show was definitely the soy sauce chicken. So tender and flavorful!
