Excellent service and delicious, authentic Mexican food in a very family-run restaurant. The chile relleno was the best we've had, and the carne asada burrito bowl came with terrific grilled vegetables and had l wonderful flavors throughout. We'll definitely visit again when we're in the area, or one of their 3-4 sister restaurants by the same name.

La Piñata…what can I say about you? I’ve been coming here for decades and the food is consistently good. In recent years, we’ve mostly just ordered takeout but we decided to dine-in recently. Service was good. Decent amount of patrons for a Thursday night.

Been eating at the original La Pinata Hayward since 90's. Have recently came to the San Leandro location 3 times recently and customer service has been terrible. Last time after lunch, we took two burrito famosas home 30 min away, only to find out they didn't finish the burrito by not adding sauce, cheese, or lettuce. I called and they told me they would comp our next super burrito famosa. Today we return for lunch at 1pm, ask for separate checks, then order our comped super burrito famosa, one regular famosa with no lettuce, & one regular famosa with no parmesan and no lettuce. We are served one with no cheese at all, just sauce, the other one correct. They take the one without cheese away and return it with all Parmesan which Parmesan is only a pinch typically, regular cheese makes up the majority. He takes it back again and they cover the heavy Parmesan with regular cheese. When we receive the check on one receipt and they charged for the comped super famosa. He says he will fix. Returns two separate checks one priced at the dinner menu price and the other lunch price. Ask to talk to manager and she never apologizes for the gentleman acknowledging everything we asked for, then returning with something completely wrong. We asked why he charged us different prices when we ordered the same item, he said we ordered from different menus...one ordered off dinner menu. Ironically, since we have been coming to La Pinata for 30 years, we never ask for a menu because we order the same thing every time. We won't return to San Leandro again. Hayward is clearly the best, they know their menu, they actually listen to what we ask for, and the service is wonderful. Clearly the poor service reflects the manager's lack of customer service skills and management because poor service filters down.

Been a loyal customer for over 20 years, today I noticed new menus, I immediately thought, before even looking that prices went up. I wasn't wrong, all my favorite plates had a minimum 3 dollar increase. I ordered a dish I normally can't finish, I just left and I'm still hungry. So...we're getting less food for more money.Sadly, I've been priced out, and will not return...

Service was great very attentive at the bar. Unfortunately they were out of the crab enchiladas so I ordered the chile relleno $9.99 which is absolutely delicious. but $9 for a modelo in a bottle? WOW

They seem to rush customers, I like to eat slow and enjoy my food. It takes a long wait to order more drinks when you’re seated.
The seafood dishes are amazing. I've been going here since I was a kid. I had one of their special cooked fish dishes. It is huge! You have to use some lime and smother it with one of their two sauces. You won't regret it. Service is great and very attentive. The atmosphere is great too. Real authentic Latino restaurant vibe.
