We had a very enjoyable dinner at Paradiso in San Leandro. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. The food was good overall, with some standout dishes, though a few items could be a bit more refined to reach the next level. Portions were fair, and pricing felt a little high for the quality and experience. Noise level was moderate, making it easy to have a comfortable conversation. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed dinner, and we would happily return.
Our experience at Paradiso was as always....very pleasant....this restaurant is just wonderful for a quiet lovely evening with wonderful food. We love Paradiso.....
Really enjoyable place for dinner. Even though someone in our party was half an hour late, we were seated and treated kindly. Food - Petrale soul, porkshop, frutta mara pasta - tasted good and included a vegetable side and a starch. Bread (two kinds) was free. Waiter was helpful and efficient without hovering. Coffee was excellent. $200 for three people including one appetizer and one dessert seems a very good deal for a upscale restaurant. Will definitely be back.
Service was not very good last night. We sat for a good 20 minutes and our waitress didn't even offer us water. She was busy with two larger parties near by. We have to wave down a floor manger to put our order in. A bit disappointed in the service. The food was great.
Paradiso is such a delight. The service, the excellent food, the tolerance of children training in restaurant manners, the water bottles on the table, the bread and oil, the joy of being cooked for.
I went with my daughter and her husband to celebrate their 31st Anniversary. Upon arrival we were seated at a nice table with a window view. Tom our waiter started our evening with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine which was nice touch. Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. The owner Eric came by our table to make sure everything was perfect. Finally at the end of the evening my daughter and her husband were presented a $31 gift card to represent the number of years of their marriage. Paradiso is always the best.
We had a lovely time at Paradiso. The food was cooked perfectly (highly recommend the slow-braised short ribs and linguine frutti di mar) and the drinks were perfectly balanced. Good non-alcoholic drinks as well. Our server was friendly, attentive, and provided good advice. The ambiance is fantastic, soft and romantic. We loved it so much we're going back for Valentine's Day!!
Thank you to our server, and hostess who seated us where we could both hear a little better!
It was a little chilly inside but it's cold outside so other than that the food was great the waiter was good had a great time! Highly recommended.

I love this place. They’re busy and the food is being made right there in the middle of everything so you know it’s good.

After a somewhat negative experience i passed on Paradiso for about 6 years. But friends reported good food and times so I finally went again. Wow, this was a great dining experience and I regret waiting so long! First, this resteraunt is not trendy but a well appointed gathering place, both spacious and intimate, that feels very urban, quiet lux and comfortable. I noticed how well staffed Paradiso is with two or three at the host station, wait and support staff. The friendly, gracious host staff went out of their way to accommodate our seating request and treated us to glasses of bubbly and a an appetizer while we waited for a window table. The Manhattan (perfect style) cocktail was so cold and one of the best I have had. The owner Eric kindly helped us with wine selection (they stock over 4,000 bottles so ask for help!) And brought up 3 bottles of Burgandy to choose from. We ended up with a fantastic choice that we really enjoyed.
For appetizer we had the oven baked mussels in a white wine and marinara sauce which was good but a bit under seasoned and served with tasty toast. The beet salad was great and NO red beets all yellow. Yeah! We also had the pizza. They have a wood fired pizza oven and the thin crust was delicious. Main courses were the sea food linguine and hand made baked ravioli. The Petral Sole looked good but hand made pasta will always win out with me. Both were excellent and portion size was just right. Finished off with a comp birthday treat and really good lattes. The server was efficient and attentive but lacked a tad bit of the warmth the rest of the staff offered.
Overall Paradiso provided a very high level dining experience at a reasonable price and we will be back! Thanks everyone!

Let’s start with the positives: the dessert was mind-blowing.
We celebrated my birthday here and chose the prix fixe meal. Everything looked visually appealing, but as a foodie, I genuinely did not find the dishes flavorful or worth the hype.
The owner was courteous and did make a round to check on guests, which I appreciated.
Now the issues:
$45 per person felt like a complete waste of money, and I’m someone who happily spends on good food.
The water glass smelled bad, which was an immediate red flag.
We were seated right by the door, and every time it opened, freezing wind blew in. Both kids and adults fell sick afterward, my birthday week is spent in sickness.
We politely requested a change of seating. The host even prepared another table, but a different waitress later denied it, claiming “no space,” despite the restaurant being visibly empty.
I also feel we were overcharged on a fixed-price menu. I asked for a copy of the bill, waited over six minutes, and still wasn’t provided one. We eventually had to leave because the kids were freezing.
If there were a way to demand a refund, I would. Since that’s not an option, let me be clear:
I do NOT recommend this place, except for the dessert.

I have only been here once. It’s a bit of a hodge podge menu in terms of different dishes and styles but the chef must be very passionate because our whole family loved their food and commented multiple times how it’s has its own flavor uniqueness
