The Tom Kha soup is probably the best I've ever had. The staff is warm and friendly and I have loved every dish I've ever had at SL Kitchen. Warning that medium spicy on dishes is medium to those who love spice :) San Leandro is really lucky to have this neighborhood gem.

I’ve been here several times and the entrees there rarely disappoint!

This time, we ordered the sampler and drunken noodles!

In the sampler, we especially enjoyed the Lao style papaya salad (that came with shredded cabbage), sai oua (sausage), and spring rolls.

In the drunken noodles, we asked for no tomatoes & it tasted great!

The service team were very friendly and even though some orders almost got sent to the next table (and vice versa), we all shared a good laugh & got our food we ordered.

A great night out!! Thank you, SL Kitchen!

Got the money bags, spicy green beans with chicken, and some sticky rice. We got water right away, service was fast, and our food came out hot and fresh. Really good. I got the green beans mild but probably would do medium in the future. The sticky rice was fantastic, I'd never had it before and I had to immediately look up how to make it. All in all very good food and excellent service. I'll be back.

Excellent on every level. Egg rolls were crispy and delicious. The red curry I ordered was very flavorful. Service was above and beyond. Prices are very reasonable. A true gem in San Leandro.

First time coming here ordered the usual drunken noodles and panang curry. It was PHENOMENAL!! Everything had great flavor. Service was amazing and the waiter was very consistent with filling our waters. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! It has been hard to find a good tasting spot in the Hayward/CV/SL area and I’ve tried them all. This restaurant is a clear winner.

P.S to all the water lovers, they give out spa water and it was so refreshing!

Papaya salad with seafood combo and fermented blue crab is so good. Lao style is my favorite and it has the perfect balance of fish, sweet, and spicy.

The service is very quick and the staff is always moving. The atmosphere is clean, simple, and nice. The food seems to be made for non native pallets. It is my go to when I want a simple pad thai or curry dish. It works well for us on those nights we don't have time to cook, but do not want American food.

Vegetarian options: You can substitute with tofu if needed.

Visited this restaurant a few times and once for take out. I was highly unhappy feeling that the food we received was old and highly disappointed in the crab fried rice that contained so many shells I almost fractured my teeth. Dining in, the portions of food are great but take out they are so stingy.

We had a really odd experience here. The khao piak sen - chicken was tasteless like water, the cook maybe forgot ingredients and forgot to taste the broth before it went out. It had absolutely no flavor, and we specifically came here to order that. The Kasoy looked delicious but was also really subtle in flavor for the broth. The ingredients seemed fresh. We've had home cooked Mien and Lao food a lot, and we were sad that our entrees had almost no flavor. We were surprised because the sampler platter of appetizers had good flavor. The money bags and egg rolls were delicious and super crunchy! We really loved the papaya salad, which was fishy, salty, and spicy! The service was good, but we were so confused and conflicted by the food that looked authentic but instead was very disappointing.

If you want authentic Thai or Lao food this is not the spot. Did an online order. Asked for all the items to be spicy, even wrote in the notes I want it extra spicy.Every item came in extra BLAND. No flavor, no spicy, no love, nothing. The Nam Tok was flavorless and so was the Larb. The Som Tum was the only decent dish. They even messed up a the fried rice, no flavor either. How hard is it to add soy sauce or golden mountain sauce or fish sauce when you cook it?And I ordered egg fried rice, but it was mostly veggies with a mini omelette on top. Like who does that? The eggs are supposed to be mixed in. Hello???Highly disappointed. Ruined my family's night, thanks!
