The food was fine, but my family was not satisfied with the tips charge. It was a take-out order, my dad did not enter "tips"when the transaction was processing, but the staff rejected to refund the tips to him. That's unacceptable and hurt our heart.?

My recent visit to Hainan special chicken left me utterly disgusted and outraged. The level of service I received was not just incompetent but shockingly disrespectful. After settling the bill, I encountered outright rudeness from the waiter when attempting to adjust the tip I had left. To add insult to injury, the owner herself intervened, insisting that tip adjustments were only possible with cash payment. Furthermore, I was informed of an alleged issue with the tip I provided, which is completely unacceptable. It's abundantly clear that this establishment has no concept of basic customer respect. Even the owner's parting comment suggesting I "bring the food home next time" was a tone-deaf insult, given the circumstances.I refuse to subject myself to such appalling treatment again and will actively discourage anyone I know from patronizing this unprofessional and disrespectful establishment.Avoid Hainan special chicken like the plague.

Menu have pictures to better illustrate the items which makes orderings easy especially for 1st time patrons. Service is fast and quick, they bring you hot tea right after you sit down. This is a eat and go sort of place, not great to chat or mingle. Parking is super easy even on the weekends. The staff speaks Cantonese, mandarin and English as well. Portions are generous as well.

i am very picky when it comes to food and service. And i ate here at least 6 times include orders to go. i have to say very good every dish keep it standard. the line can be long sometimes . The price is right also . San Leandro restaurants are all improving both in quality & service.

I give this place 3.5 stars review for now. The place is known for hoi lam chicken, but I had beef stew over rice. It's pretty good but the stew may be a bit chewy. I should have ordered the speciality chicken. Haha. I also had fried chicken bone for appetizer. I can see myself snack on it. Haha. A soup was included and I did like it much. It's not much smg and hot. A plently of parking spaces. The services were average. I would come back to try their specialty chicken.

Hi, avoid this restaurant unless you like diarrhea. We ordered the chicken rice combo x2 plus a whole set of Hainan chicken, both my wife and I, including my parents all got sick.Called the restaurant, they asked if we went to the hospital and I said no, and that was that.

The quality of a restaurant is, in part, based on their food, but also, in large part, on their service. Their service was awful.I had an issue with my order placed on Storefront through Door Dash. The app directed me to call the restaurant. When I called the restaurant to get some help resolving the issue, the lady I spoke to was completely dismissive, curt, and couldn't have cared less. She told me to contact Door Dash and hung up on me.I understand that ordering through a 3rd party can create limitations/challenges for the restaurants. Despite this, restaurants are in the service industry. There should be a basic level of care for the customer. This was completely absent in my conversation with Special Hainan Chicken. This is a poor reflection of their service and the restaurant as a whole, and I would not support this restaurant.

Absolutely atrocious customer service by blatantly asking tips when basic service standard wasn’t even met. DON’T ASK FOR TIPS UNLESS YOU DO MORE THAN YOU WERE HIRED TO DO.

Heard about this from a friend who said they have a nice mix of noodle soups. We’ve been to this mall so many times and didn’t even notice this!We got the laksa broth with seafood and fish noodle. Laksa was very very good and goes perfectly with the seafood. We also got tomyum broth with seafood and rice noodles. This was excellent too.Nice friendly service and fairly easy parking in the mall. Gonna keep coming back soon!

Unfriendly to English-speaking customers. Confusing instructions from the staff. Make you order from the bar code on the table. But ask you pay again when you leave. Persistent on tipping even after I already tip on mobile order. Food is fine but please please double check with the order if you can only speak English. Be cautious to be double charged.

The Hainan chicken was quite tender and juicy with firm texture but not much flavor to it. It's better than a lot of other Hainan chicken places in the bay and you can't beat the price for around $14. The ginger scallion sauce didn't have much ginger or scallion taste to it other than being salty. So now you have bland chicken and salty sauce but it's not as bad as it sounds since the texture of the chicken was good and juicy. The fried chicken gizzard was prepped right and appropriately sized. Not too much breading and the right amount of crunch and flavor. The fried tofu was okay and nothing special about it so I would skip it if it's your favorite dish. The braised duck was decent and kind of bland but the texture wasn't mushy which is common for ducks. The lemon tea was watered down Lipton black tea with slices of lemon tossed in there. It's not the authentic kind with ultra concentrated three types of tea leaves base and lemon juice infused syrup. The kind with rich lemon and tea flavor without the bitterness and roughbess in the mouth. But that's almost impossible to find in the bay unless you make it yourself. I would skip this drink if lemon tea is your thing. The service was good, everything came out orderly and fast. They have room to combine the tables for party of 6 or more. Parking is plenty in the plaza. This place offers good value in this price range for lunch and quick dinner. At under $15 a meal, this has to be one of the top Hainan chicken restaurants in the bay area.

I tried the Signature Hainan Chicken over Rice, featuring tender Hainan chicken served on a bed of fluffy rice alongside seasonal vegetables and original broth. The chicken had the perfect color and flavor, and the chicken rice was quite enjoyable. If you're a fan of Hainan chicken rice, it's definitely worth a try!
