I can't resist to go there every time I visit Kaiser San Leandro. They have the best Bun Rieu, Crab roe vermicelli soup (B9 on the menu), so flavorful. It is not easy to find this item in other places. Tu Tai now only have take out, no dine in. The take out package has all the ingredients, fixings and condiment. I am very happy with it. Now, I got to try the Banh Mi.

Tu Tai has the best banh mi. Warm crusty bread, lots of meat and everything is fresh. I havent been here for years but when I stopped by the other day, the lady still remembered me and their food is still just as good as it was before. Also ordered the fried egg rolls and they were hot and fresh. Very satisfied!

Small family owned restaurant. The lady there is super friendly. I love their Bun Rieu and lotus salad - so tasty!

I haven't fully explored the pho offerings in the immediate area convenient to Alameda. I did try a place in Berkeley that I thought was slightly north of mediocre. Anyhow, I found this place on the way back from getting covid tested at the San Leandro Community Center. I wanted pho, wife, wanted pho, we go pho. I thought the broth had plenty of flavor and bite. I ordered the combo bowl and thought the many beef parts were of sufficiently high quality. The pho noodles had plenty of chew. And to top it all off, the slices of jalapeno were above average spicy. Compared to the San Gabriel Valley/So Cal, I thought there prices were on the high side. Compared to North California, I suppose the prices are on par. This place was tasty. I'd go back.

Prices have almost doubled compared to menu photos and the bread on my sandwich was so hard it's inedible. I took three bites and had to toss it. Do not recommend.

I work in San Leandro and I go here whenever I don't bring in a lunch. I call around 11:30 and tell them I'll be by to pick it up at around 12:05. I always get the Bahn mi Sandwiches cause they are my favorite item on the menu. My pickup order has never been cold and it always tastes fresh and they always time it perfectly. I've never had to wait so I consider their service to be top notch. For a quick and easy bite to eat I would highly recommend this place if Vietnamese is what you're in the mood for in San Leandro.

Their bun bo hue is the best I've had in sl. If you need your bbh fix this is the place. No blood cake though.

This spot is just a hole-in-the-wall...a little disorganized...and slow. So if you don't mind waiting in line with distinct possibility of getting the wrong food items...you can try them.

Stumbled into Tu Tai during my visit from Kaiser Hospital. Their food here is delicious and probably, one of the last of the last Vietnamese cuisine that does not overcharge. Most items here are under $10, some under $9 so it's a great value with delicious taste and generous portions. Not sure if it's a husband and wife or sister team, but been here a handful of times now and they have always been super friendly. I would highly recommend trying their Combo Banh Mi. They give you generous meat portions and the bread is super crunchy and moist all in one. Really delicious! Love all their rice dish but especially love their Crab soup a whole lot. Super tasty and tons of crab ball. They are located in the out-strip mall next to the Asian grocery off Doolittle with plenty of parking, but during peak time, parking are almost full so just take note. All in all, love this hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant and it will be my go to when I'm in the area. Cheers!

I needed to do some shopping at the market and was craving a mushroom tofu banh mi. I didn't feel like detouring over to Lotus Leaf so I went to check out the menu at Tu Tai and saw they had a vegetarian sandwich. I ordered one along with the vegetarian vermicelli. They haven't reopened for sit down dining yet but even if they had, I was still planning to order To Go. As soon as I got home, I was so hungry, I inhaled the sandwich. If you'd been here and you'd blinked, you would have missed it. The bread was fresh and crusty and stuffed with veggie goodness. There was a mixture of cooked cabbage, shiitake mushrooms and tofu stuffed inside along with the usual cilantro, cucumber, jalapeno and pickled carrot and radish you'll find in a banh mi. I kind of wanted the pickled veggies to be a bit more crunchy and tangy, but the sandwich was good and decent. I saved the vermicelli for dinner. It was beautifully loaded with veggies. The cooked cabbage, mushroom and tofu mixture that was in the sandwich was also on the salad. You'll see it beneath the broccoli in the photo I'm including. The sauce was on the sweet side so I added a couple dashes of Yondu sauce for some saltiness. Great balance of veggies and noodles and satisfying portion wise. I was a little sad they didn't have a few more veg friendly dishes on their menu; these two items and spring rolls appear to be it. Lastly, the ladies that work here are super nice and friendly and the one who took my order told me she's vegetarian, so maybe they'll bring more veg friendly items to the menu in the future. One can hope. In any case, I'll definitely be back to support this small local Asian owned business when I'm in this area.

They're food is great, fast service. Try the Bah Mi grilled pork sandwich! It's always crowded in this shopping center so take a buddy to run out and get the food while you wait in the car.

Love this place for great Vietnamese Pho, sandwiches, and dry noodles. The avocado smoothies are wonderful.

Wife and I grabbed dinner here the other day and were super happy with what we got and absolutely plan on being regulars! The woman working was super friendly and sweet. Interacting with her alone made me want to come back. But then we took the food home and ate it and knew we would be coming back even if the service wasn't that good. We both ordered vermicelli plates. I had the grilled pork and she had the egg roll. Both were super flavorful and the portion sizes were excellent. Plus, they have some of the best noodles I've had in a while! We also ordered the spring rolls which were very fresh and came with plenty of the peanut sauce, which was really nice.
