Cool atmosphere, a live band played. They had good balance and tone, Sounded pretty good.
I had the Mexican Mocha, It was less than Luke warm. On a Cold night I need a warm to hot drink This wasn't there. For $8.00 It was a bit of a disappointment.

Dietary restrictions: No herbal teas here. In fact, it listed hot chocolate as “non-caffeine” drink?

Good service decent tea selection; they don’t carry Stevia for some reason.

Went to get coffee and charge my car. Guess what they had their trucks parked in the spots. Ordered coffee and asked if they will move their trucks so i can charge my car. Got some rude response to take a hike. Wow.. alright fancy coffee place get ur act together. This is berkeley and good coffee is every where. What kind of owner allows this?
Parking: Horrible - no access to 5 frekin charging station - they block them on purpose. Scammers!!

This place rocks! It is gorgeous, and the owners are really nice people that also actually work there as well. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into the place. The coffee is THE BEST, the food is amazing. They also have craft beers and wine. It is such a cool little place (it's actually a lot bigger than it looks from the street!) And I can't wait to go back! I had beef cheek lasagna that was made from scratch and it was DIVINE. I also had deviled eggs, caesar salad, and tomato bisque, all of which is house-made from scratch. I believe it was from the happy hour menu, though because it was open mic night, so I'm not too sure how often those items are available. Also, don't judge me..everything sounded so good so I ordered it all. No, I didn't eat it all in one sitting. If I didn't run out of room in my gut I would have, though. It was so good!! All in all, 10/10 would recommend to any and everybody.
Parking: It's downtown, so parking can be sort of a nightmare, but it's worth it!
Kid-friendliness: They host open mic nights among other events and they have in-house daycare for the events. The place is extremely family friendly. They have a "kids corner" open every day, where kids can hang out and read books or play with toys while their parents enjoy their coffee or meals.

I've been to this place several times. The coffee is always great. Five stars. The food is good but pricey for what you get. The service is mostly good but they don't always have all the materials you need like coffee lid plugs for to-go orders which bugs me when ordering delicious coffee to-go. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Seating is a bit tight but because they get busy, rightfully so. Overall, a good coffee place!
Kid-friendliness: They have a small kids area!

Have visited this San Leandro mainstay many times over the years. Food, coffee, and atmosphere are all fantastic. An appealing and friendly place to meet/eat/work.

Zocalo is the very best place to be in San Leandro. As someone who worked for a few hours there everyday until I moved recently (hi!! I miss you all!) its truly a treat. From the coffee made with care and the super nice baristas to the comfy/welcoming/inclusive atmosphere, Zocalo has it all. There’s even a little play area for kids in the back, which is such a welcome change from most places that discourage kids from playing. The food is great too, and i highly recommend the roast beef sando. I think they also recently had an open mic night and serve drinks in the evening now! Check this place out if you haven't yet! Parking is really easy across the street at Safeway :)
