Good corned beef hash very sweet staff. Surprisingly Good coffee to!
The most DISGUSTING food I’ve ever forced myself to eat! But I ate some of it because I was ridiculously hungry. When I walked in the waitress was just standing and ignoring me and I was right about to leave when she finally acknowledged me. The name “Budget Cafe” would seem to imply that it is a budget friendly cafe, but it is not in any sense, as the prices are 100% standard prices. But rather, it is the cafe that seems to be on a budget, as it serves/resells the worst store bought food on the shelves (including Velveeta FAKE cheese and BLEACHED “Wonder Bread”). I wonder why people eat food that literally has bleach in it without them realizing how different it tastes. The bread issue can be common among restaurants, but fake cheese is a total joke and is pretty much a lie if they want to say that it’s American cheese. Made in America perhaps, but not cheese. A $15 omelette that I wish I had just declined as soon as I saw the pre-sliced “Cheese” on top of it.

Budget Cafe.....Not So Much👎. I Went There Hoping To Get 2 Breakfast Burritos For a Decent Price and It Cost Me $50 Bucks And Change For 2 Burritos and a Hot Chocolate.....To Go. Wasn't Even Very Good ....Filled With Gross Stuff I Didn't Ask For. Will Not Ever Be Going Back. VERY Disappointed.
The greatest English muffin I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Good place for breakfast. Plenty of options. Portions are smaller than several local breakfast spots, perfect if you are a light eater. Add a side if you come hungry. Booths on the perimeter are comfortable, center tables feel too close together. Service is friendly and accomodating. Best english muffins, unsure why they are always better than others.

Was recommended this place so I had to try it while in area.. Place was pretty empty when I dropped in about 1pm I originally ordered thee open faced turkey sandwich, it was horrible! It was a slice of bread warm turkey deli meat & thee most salty gravy ever !!! Had to send it back tasted like I was licking a salt rock 🤢 tried to send it back immediately however waitress didnt circle back to check on me for over 20min she finally came & I let her know its not edible its over salted. Ordered a cold sandwich instead well the bread was stale falling apart 🙃 so sandwich was broken to peices with every bite !! Gave up.. packed the rest to go ! An hour in by this time & I was over the wait , getting a box was even a long wait .. Fries were good & so was the water ... Would I return??? Probably not 👎🏻although it was a quiet little local café service & food needs lots of improvement! I still paid & tipped for my food even though the experience I had there wasn't good . Maybe lunch menu isn't their specialty ... 🤷🏻♀️

This is one of our favorite spots for breakfast/lunch in SLO. The food is great and the staff is both competent and friendly.

The place is called Budget Café, but don’t let the name fool you—it’s not budget-friendly. Prices are the same as most places in the area, but the food was terrible. The French toast tasted rotten, and the eggs in the omelet were gross. 🤢 It was also very busy and crowded. Honestly, skip this place—especially the French toast!

I love the budge! Tiny little hole in the wall doing what looks to be an awesome business! Reasonably priced for good comfort food. Exactly what you would expect from a Small Town Coffee Shop / Diner😁
The Chile Verde omelette was pretty good.
Great staff who clearly have lots of kid experience. Clean and classic atmosphere. Delicious food. Get the hash browns extra crispy!
Great food great service. Classic (to me) breakfast/lunch cafe. Have eaten here several times. Omelettes are good, pancakes also. I like the chorizo omelette. I had the corn beef hash this time around and my wife had an excellent patty melt! Busy spot in small business center. One of my favorite things is they keep your coffee FULL! Will be back soon
