I have eaten here several times and it never disappoints! Food and wine selection lovely for a small local bistro. Excellent service with friendly and informed wait staff!

So much great things about this place! Ambiance and service were great! The Brussels sprout appetizer and peanut butter chocolate pie were outstanding! The burger could use a bit more finesse but the pesto pasta was one of the best dishes I've had! Ever... so overall you should check this place out!

Great experience! We loved the whole vib on the hotel and cocktail bar!

Had 4:00 reservation for dinner, not knowing that only "starters" would be available before 5:00. After ordering enough starters for dinner, the cost was very high, considering the minimal amount of food.

Don’t stay here - they’ll accuse you of stealing.

I joined my friend on a work trip who booked the hotel. We saw a guest in the room by us wearing a robe and noticed we didn’t have any in our room. We called front desk and asked if we could get robes since our room didn’t have them, and they offered to bring some up. Well, they never did, so my friend went down to the lobby to grab them, and explained the situation again and was given the robes. At no point were we told the rooms come with robes. We left the robes in the room on our way out. To my friend’s surprise, she was charged $450 for THREE robes, more than the cost of our single night of stay ($340). She spoke to the front desk and general manager who kept insisting they kept accurate inventory count. My friend asked if there were photos taken to prove house keepers left the robes in the room - they didn’t have any. Furthermore, no receipt or invoice was emailed to my friend, so she only found out about the charge weeks later.

The general manager refused to do anything to resolve the problem. In no world would anyone choose to lose $450 over cheap hotel robes worn by hundreds of other guests. The service and experience was lower than any mainstream or boutique hotel experienced. Highly recommend staying at the Apple Farm Inn or the Petit Soleil next time.

Great location but the room was very dark, poor lighting.
Great cocktail bar, safe very knowledgeable and engaging.

Style without substance. The food wasn't good. The hamburger patty had a sour taste. The tuna was dry with an unflavored hot sauce. I was grateful to not be charged for the tuna. Just a place with a cool ambiance.

GRANADA HOTEL = MISLEADING/ negative experience. Will not be going back.
Granada Hotel & Bistro in San Luis Obispo.
Looks and decor are chic, but rest and relaxation were not on the menu.
Danger struck when I opened the door to my fancily decorated room #3, my nose was met with a signature scent designed for the hotel. Signature scents are fine for shampoo and soap, but a scented room similar with similar notes to Versace’s Dylan Blue cologne just gave me a headache- no scents please unless you advertise this. Annoying .
As the night progressed I bought an overnight parking ticket. I asked concierge if spot a would be available when I got back later that evening. Upon return an hour later all parking was full and different concierge tells me she would have to audit parking lot and will text me when a spot is available. Then looking for the easy way out, tells me to park in handicap spot it’s okay she says. All night I’m concerned about my car getting towed and ticketed. Is this me, I don’t want to take the spot of someone who needs access to the hotel. Screw it, I guess we can all disregard anyone with a need for handicap parking. My other choice is a public lot down the block.
The grand finale, I.e. “The worst part” this is a Monday night and I’m trying to get some rest by 9:30 pm as this is a business trip. There is a party next door and above my room, no worries I think. 11pm party is still raging, dance music, chatter, laughing, multiple conversations. 11:30-12:30 bar closing and cleaning sounds, clanking of glasses, sloshing of mops.
Could you at least warn the guests staying in rooms on this side of the hotel.
Do not stay at Granada Hotel in San Luis Obispo unless you want a chic interior, scented with headache inducing cologne, a lack of parking and zero chance or sleep.
Oops! Forgot to mention WIFI did not work.
Turns out my room was next to the NIGHTCAP BAR.
Motel 6 on the side of the hwy 101 was more restful.
I checked out quietly at 5:30am .

This review is for the Bistro. Service is 1 star out of 5.
We just had a Sunday brunch at the Bistro where we had a great experience with Taste of SLO Food Walking Tour last November but it was not as great as we expected.
Servers are rather relaxed and not attentive. they like hanging out at the bar counter area all the way inside away from patio tables. It took for a while until we could place our order and our drinks ( Orange juice and Latte) didn’t show up for a while as well as food. It was not crowded at all.
I ordered French Toast Bread Pudding which was so delicious last time but it was rather dry without enough syrup. I wanted to ask for a syrup but no servers were around in the patio area, my husband had to stand up and to go to the bar counter area where servers were all hanging out just for a syrup.
It was a disappointing dining experience and I do believe that many customers would feel the same way as we did. Looked like all orders, especially food orders, took long time to be served and everybody had to wait for a long time.
Only positive aspect is food, especially Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. It was excellent.
My Vanilla Latte never showed up but only a regular Latte. I didn’t want to point it out because would be for a long time until I could get my Vanilla Latte. I don’t think our server even paid an attention for the order detail.

Granada Hotel & Bistro is the perfect boutique stay in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. The location is unbeatable, just steps from shops, restaurants, Bubblegum Alley, and a short walk to Mission San Luis Obispo.

The rooms are modern yet cozy, with exposed brick, hardwood and floors that give the space a warm, chic vibe. My room featured a fireplace and my friend's room had a balcony, which make the stay feel extra special.

I loved the patio area where complimentary morning coffee is available. The bar is another standout, Nightcap, isn’t your typical hotel bar. They serve true craft cocktails, mixed with care and creativity.

Between the stylish rooms, excellent service, and unbeatable location, Granada Hotel & Bistro is easily one of the best places to stay in SLO. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Granada for a long weekend attending a wedding nearby. The location to downtown SLO is amazing, but even better was access to multiple towns and destinations we visited on our trip (SLO airport, Pismo Beach, Avila Beach, Los Osos, Morro Bay, coastal hikes and more).

Parking is tricky, particularly on Thursday night when the market is happening, but the staff communicated the is well ahead of time.

The complimentary bikes were nice to have, we biked around town and went to Laguna Lake Park.

Bistro has great food and atmosphere.

We stayed in a large room overlooking the front street. Very nice and amenities matched expectations. I did get a glimpse of other rooms, and there were varying sizes for sure.

Overall, this is not a value hotel, but if you’re looking for a walkable or centrally located hotel in SLO county and have elevated expectations, then this is the spot.

We have enjoyed this beautiful hotel many times since our daughter moved to San Luis Obispo about 2 1/2 years ago. The location is perfect and the hotel itself is still so charming but I feel it may be under new management that is not as desirable as it use to be. Charming services like morning light breakfast and coffee has been cut down to coffee only. Other services were not as friendly or as warm as they were before either. Our future visits will unfortunately have us looking else where to stay.

Very enjoyable evening out. The service from a great female food server(sorry don't have her name) was outstanding! The food and drinks were very good and presented in gourmet style. This bistro is one of our favorite spots when we're in SLO.
