The customer service is bad, I will never go here again. They ignore your phone calls and lack a culture of making things right. Try house of bread, high quality food and great customer service.

I just picked up my food. It's fine - hard to mess up a bagel though right? I tried calling 5 times before going in because, as previous reviews mention, they aren't the quickest when it comes to making the food. Show up, place my order, sit and wait. I was the only person there. While waiting I decided to call to see if maybe the phone wasn't working on their end. It was working, so then I called 3 more times and proceeded to watch the 2 employees not even attempt to answer the phone? Not sure what that's all about but not a great look. They don't want business so I'll stop giving it to them. Will try house of bread next time.

We waited 15 minutes in line to place our order, then after waiting more than 30 minutes and not having any food, we asked the counter people to check on our order. They told us they had given our order to someone else and would have remake our order. It took another 15 minutes for us to get food. The counter persons only comment was an offhand, "sorry for the wait."

The bagels took 25 minutes to come out. The slowest bagel place I have ever been to. There were 4 employees working. Do not come here unless you want to wait 30 min

Well my friend and I wanted bagel sandwiches. When we arrived the place was so dirty. Our food wasn't good. These bagels are not good at all. Hard, not soft, fluffy or chewy. We basically ended up throwing our food away. The ladies working weren't friendly either. Not a good experience and we won't be back. If you want a real bagel try Jonny Boys or bramble pie (same owners, same bagels) in Atascadero.

this bagel shop has actually become a point of intense fascination for me. Like I don’t think I could make a bagel slower if you challenged me to. I’m being genuine when I say I have brought people here specifically to see how slow it is, because that’s how interesting it is to me. I can’t even really be mad at this point because I know what to expect and I keep going out of morbid curiosity.

When I think of bagels, I think of House of Bagels. When you walk into House of Bagels time ceases to exist. The staff move slowly with the greatest amount of attention. I found myself doubting House of Bagels as I waited, but when I eventually received my bagel I was pleasantly surprised. If you have a free morning give this spot a try and make sure to sit outside in the sun.

I LOVE HOUSE OF BAGELS!! Despite the long wait for orders, I always get a bagel here during my trips to SLO. I highly recommend the green hat on asiago or everything bagel. The lemon pepper is SOOO GOOD! I will always be a fan of this place and look forward to my next trip into the area.

Popular place with pretty good bagels. Come esrly because they run out of the more popular ones by 9:30. They always seem a bit understaffed so Olán on a wait.

Outside seating, excellent menu choices, well staffed, and friendly employees. They went out of their way to bring us our food. Wait was only 15 minutes when it was pretty busy. We ordered the Egg veggie sandwich and Top Hat. The provolone & tomato bagels are delicious. We’ll be here often! Sweet staff.

While the bagels are great the last 3-4 times I’ve been here they don’t have the variety they post on the board. The help is disorganized, poor communicators and too worried about answering the phone than helping the people standing in what is usually a 4-5 person deep line.

After going here for breakfast, I honestly don't understand how this place stays in business. Sure, the food is okay (a little too much salt on the green hat bagel), but I just don't see how the economics work out. We ordered three bagels, two green hats and bagel with cream cheese. With three employees in the front/prep area of the restaurant It took a half hour to get the food. They weren't busy either, they just moved at a glacial pace (about the pace I'd make a sandwich if I was exhausted and was half paying attention to a Netflix show at the same time), and they maybe got a smallish order out every ten minutes or so. So three employees, at California wages and benefits, trickling out orders during prime breakfast hours at a *bagel* shop? I just don't understand how that possibly works. Staff seemed confused to apathetic. One older lady came to pick up a pre-paid bagel order, but they hadn't written down that she'd paid (in fairness she didn't bring the receipt), and it took a good 10 minutes or so with multiple visits to the back for them to decide they wouldn't charge her again for the bagels but would take her phone number in case they needed to follow up. A few times, there were customers who entered the empty line and weren't even acknowledged for several minutes. Also, when staff member three showed up, she took her time about getting ready and putting on the apron (maybe she was early for her shift?) and spent time talking to the one person who was making the food (yes, only one of three actually prepped the food, but again, it was at that glacial sandwich over Netflix pace). If this were the only place in town with bagels, maybe it would work out okay. Unfortunately for them, many of the local coffee shops (especially Coastal Peaks) also have really good bagels, cream cheese, and topped bagel offerings, and have staff that are both friendly and fast. So again it really makes me wonder, how does this place stay in business?
