Excellent food and service. Always a treat to dine at Koberl At Blue for any special occasion. The specials are delicious, as are the menu items. The wine menu has some interesting and surprisingly good choices.

Just ask the server if there are any questions. They are great.

Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are busier, so reservations are recommended for larger parties to set up.

It's not inexpensive, but well worth the dining experience with the spouse/SO, family, and good friends.

Parking downtown can be challenging, a big suggestion is to take a picture of the license plate before going to use the pay kiosk or if not already saved in the app.

Parking: Paid street parking near the restaurant and paid garage parking a block other two away.

Ungenuine service and outdated in its cooking including payment methods. = Old school. Traditional restaurant with good balance in seasoning. Lavacake is like a sticky cake & does not hold up to standard.

The service was good! But the food not so much! To start we had calamari, which was cooked in old oil and had no seasoning. For our entrees we had ribeye which had a dirty grill flavor. I had the ahi tuna which had zero seasoning. I wouldn’t recommend this place!

We were in the mood for a nice steak and lobster and happened to come across this place . My wife called and they had a cancelation great! . To make a long story short the food and our waitress were excellent.! We met the owner and I told her that this was the best dinner we have had in a long long time . We can't wait to go back. Lucky couple in Ventura to have found a place like this!!!! 2/24

Very disappointed. Went with some friends to celebrate a birthday.
The staff embarrassed one friend for some reason I didn't understand, which put a dampener on the whole experience.
I ordered duck which was inedible and had to send it back.
Really wasn't worth going to for the prices charged. None of us will be going back.

This is a wonderful place with fabulous service. Our server Eric was fun as well as professional. I had the quail on special and my husband had the duck. All perfectly done.

I give a 3 star rating because the surf and turf special on 3/31/24 had lukewarm filet mignon and the beef and lobster quantities were appetizer size not dinner size. My wife really liked the ahi tartare.

The filet mignon was delicious.
& My hubby had one of the specials, the quail. It was the first time he had it, and really enjoyed how it was seasoned.
Loved the low light atmosphere, very romantic for our anniversary dinner.

Beautiful atmosphere with white table clothes and table settings. Ryan, our server, was professional and fun. Oysters, butter lettuce salad, sea scallops, and lingue with veal..all amazing. It's definitely a great date night place. Guys, remove your ball caps and respect your date.

Pricy like other nice restaurants but well worth it. Ordered just 3 appetizers, not dinner. Wanted to be satisfied without eating heavy food. Was perfect. Will go back again.

Parking: SLO parking fees are crazy. Makes me think I'll go to another area where parking is free or at least less expensive. $3. per hour is nuts. And prepaying by guessing how long you will be out. Nuts again!

Great atmosphere, great service, but not so great food. The halibut, itself, was well-cooked and tasty, but it was advertised as coming with raviolies. I got ONE ravioli along with a little cooked spinach. We ordered the crab chamboisse (sp?) as an appetizer, which were basically crab balls or puffs. They were quite small, and there were only 3 on the plate. It was difficult to split the third one because there was a crab claw inside it. They were fairly tasteless, and not worth $18. We had a fruit cobbler for dessert, which was advertised as having a granola crust. The fruit part was delicious, but we couldn't find the granola crust anywhere. For the high cost of eating here, it wasn't worth it.
