McConnell's Fine Ice Creams - SLO

This place is amazing! I am lactose intolerant! They have dairy free ice cream! It was so good! I can finally enjoy ice cream from an ice cream parlor again! Yay 😀

Best ice cream on the Central Coast! Seriously, if you haven't tried McConnell's, run, don't walk, over there for the best ice cream of your life. Amazing flavors, like Earl Grey tea and cookies, salted caramel, 3x chocolate, Eureka lemon and marionberry, and Brazilian coffee, just for starters. Imaginative selection of dairy-free flavors and sorbets, too. Best of all, it's made with milk from happy Cal Poly cows!

Ice cream is very good. Price is more than double what is reasonable. Staff can be less than friendly.

Great ice cream downtown SLO

Great ice cream! but “hot fudge” was 2 squirts of cold chocolate syrup. Huh?

Great quality ice cream made with fresh ingredients. McConnell’s is my favorite place to get strawberry ice cream. Their single scoop serving size is the perfect size to satisfy any major sweet tooth.

Second time at McConnell’s in SLO and still just as good as I remembered. The staff is super friendly and patient — really great service. I went all in this time and got four flavors in one cup: strawberry, matcha, coffee x 2, I couldn’t resist. All were smooth, rich, and so fresh-tasting. Loved the combo of classic and unique flavors. Perfect spot to cool off and treat yourself. Definitely a must-stop.

The ice cream was amazing but the employees need some work. I came all the way from Monterey county just to have my experience ruined. The customer service was terrible specifically from the short guy with blonde hair and a buzz cut. I was yelled “what” at for correcting my order before he began. I felt humiliated and belittled, as the shop was packed and everyone turned to look. Overall, please ensure your employees don’t bring their anger out on their customers even if they’re having a bad day.

I’m sooo forever grateful this place is open til 10pm. Their sea salt cream & cookies is my usual go to. Yes their ice cream is good and yummy but five stars cause they’re open late.

Amazing ice cream!! All the flavors are delicious but my favorite is the Santa Barbara Strawberry

Let me start off by saying that I live in upstate New York. While listening to a certain famous singers biography on Audible, I discovered she was a huge fan of coffee ice cream as I have been my entire life. When I heard she had a favorite that she quite often had shipped to herself. I thought well I need to check this out.
My first shipment…because it certainly won’t be my last, shipment of assorted coffee ice creams arrived this week. They are all wonderful. I bought the coffee, Brazilian coffee and the coffee with See’s molasses chips. My favorite was the coffee with the molasses chips followed by the Brazilian coffee. While I like just the plain coffee it was a little less creamy than the other two. But they all are stand out coffee ice cream!
I grew up with Howard Johnson’s coffee, ice cream, which was always my gold standard. No grocery shop ice cream comes close and any hometown manufacturers just don’t get enough coffee to make it worth the calories. Trader Joe’s has a pretty good coffee ice cream. But when I want a special treat, I will be ordering and having McConnell’s shipped all the way across the country!

A must stop for every ice cream lover. Their ice cream was one of the best I've ever tasted.
