The saltiest BBQ I've ever had. I had the tri-tip plate with pinto beans and quinoa salad. The tri-tip was slightly warm with the sauce served on the side. Everything on the plate has a noticeable salty taste. The meat did not taste like it had been smoked because it was salty. They have a wall of self pour tap beer. Maybe that's why they add so much salt to the dishes. Paid around $21 for the meal.

Update:
After contacting them directly, they refunded the tri-tip sandwiches. It was obviously a mistake, and I'm convinced it won't happen. They seem to genuinely care.

I always enjoy Old SLO BBQ, but yesterday, 7/14/25, I ordered two tri-tip sandwiches from the Broad Street location. Both were absolutely disgusting. One was rare, like barely cooked rare, and almost half of it was huge chunks of fat. The other wasn't...

We hired Old SLO BBQ as our wedding caterer. Kevin was extremely easy to work with and made the whole process stress-free. The value was outstanding, especially compared to other caterers in the area, and the food was beyond amazing. Everyone loved it!
