Perfect place if you're looking for a casual lunch/dinner spot with lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Great for a date night or for larger groups with lawn games, fire pits, and live music! Service is nothing special but efficient. You order at the counter, get a buzzer, and seat yourself. Drinks are made at the bar and you pick up your food once your buzzer goes off. The food, however, is 10/10!! I ordered the smash burger lettuce wrapped with two patties, cheese, and grilled onions which was cooked to perfection. Their fries are some of the best I've had -- super fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Food came out quick and was hot & fresh. The salads are great too! Overall, if you're looking for a casual atmosphere to enjoy some good food & drinks, this is a great spot.

We went to see Dogs in a Pile on a weekday. Nothing like seeing a show where the space was built to be a concert venue! The sound was pretty good, great airflow, the stage and lighting were immaculate. Clearly a lot of money went into building out the space and I'd say they did a pretty good job.Parking: 12 hour parking on both sides of the street.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs in sight.

Fun and well designed bar with attached restaurant and distillery on site. Great for hanging out and catching up w/ friends, or just out for date night as well. Restaurant options are pretty solid with smashburgers and handhelds. Mixed drinks are excellent and the smoky old fashioned is a must. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty of indoor seating area. Plenty of outdoor parking. Prices are a little bit on the higher side, but nothing out of the ordinary for a gastropub these days. Overall recommended and would love to return here when I'm back in town. Located relatively near the SLO Regional Airport.

Not bad at all. Not 5-star dining, but why would you expect that ar a glorified bar. Games and activities for your kids if hitting it in the afternoon. Good food and drink. Casual, laid back atmo.

Showed up on a Saturday night to enjoy some beers and wings with some friends. We were denied service due to our Oregon IDs being “fake”. They weren’t able to scan the IDs to check their validity because they don’t have a scanner which seemed odd in my opinion. I am 23 years of age and a senior in college and have frequently visited bars in downtown SLO. I asked to speak to a manager, who evidently wasn’t on the premises or on call. I was given a number to call, however no answer after 4 phone calls. Very poor customer service and improper protocols. Would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a good night out with friends.

Nice open beer and wine bar with good "bar" food. Order at the counter and bring it to your table. Sometimes meat events and hard liquor from the distillery section in a somewhat separate room.

Tucked away near the SLO airport, in an industrial complex, lays Rod and Hammer! The space is really cool and huge with indoor and outdoor seating, including fire pits outside and a ton of tables everywhere. Their live music venue, SLO Brew Rock, is right next door so you can grab food before a concert as well! Service is somewhat of a mess here as there is always a very, very long line (with one person taking the food orders) and also a very long line for drinks at the bar. This is definitely a local, college kid spot as it's always bustling with large groups of college kids. But also a great spot for larger parties or tourists. Their food is definitely a highlight! Recently I had the pastor street tacos and they were soo fantastic! Their salads are really really good too (and you can surely mess up a basic salad very quickly). I have tried a good amount of their menu as I came here with a large group of friends and everything is really fresh and comes out piping hot and absolutely delicious! The drinks here are also very good - highly recommend. They have their own bourbon whiskey / rye whiskey, a wide variety of amazing flavored whiskey as well as canned cocktails - the Whiskey Mule is one of my favorites!! Overall, the space is really cool and has a lot to offer. I will certainly be back, especially to see live music and enjoy their food!

The food was fantastic! Best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The restaurant side service is walk up, which, given the open air environment make sense... just adjust your expectations accordingly. I also didn't like the self bussing aspect...again practical but didn't sit right with me since the restaurant itself didn't feel "fast food"-esque. The bar side is very cozy and seems like a great date spot.
