Spirit of San Luis Restaurant

As someone that absolutely loves airplanes and has grown up visiting San Luis Obispo as my summer vacation spot every year since nine months old, this restaurant has been the staple in my life.

Throughout all the years and all the owners, they have kept the magic of this place and that’s why I keep going back.

Not only do they have fantastic customer service, amazing menu choices, and above and beyond all being able to sit outside with a nice cold drink in your hand and enjoy all sorts of beautiful aircraft Takeoff 🛫.

I wish everyone was as lucky as I was the day that my dream aircraft landed and parked right in front,with its private gateway leading into the restaurant, and after speaking with the owner, who was the pilot invited me down to be able to check out his Icon A5.

Excellent place to eat before or after your flight.

We’re chronic regulars, have been for years. Good location. Generous portions, rotating specials. If you want to eat healthy you can. They are always trying new things for the specials. Sandabs are fabulous, good salads , seafood pasta is rich and delightful. Desserts are many and varied, burgers a treat. You will not be disappointed!

First time coming here. Flew in from Van Nuys. The transient parking is right at the base of the tower and the restaurant is a 2 minute walk at most. The gate will take you up to the ramp. I got the patty melt. It was great. Lots of fries. Service was fast and friendly. Someone from the restaurant has to let you out to your airplane as they don’t give you the code to get out the gate.

Friendly and welcoming restaurant. Good food! I have been there 20 times, and I am never disappointed. Claire is an amazing server :)

Really enjoyed this cute restaurant. Food wasn't terribly unique, but they do the basics extremely well. Great spot if stuck at SLO airport!

Average food in a fun location. Interesting to watch the airplanes come and go.

We are San Luis Obispo residents and we used to go to this restaurant but today the front desk service was awful! We waited long time to be seated that we decided to go somewhere else, they kept seating people that came after us and the guy who was seating people never said a word about the time left to be seated. These new owner could learn a lot from the old owners.

I go here quite often because it's such a wonderful place. the food is absolutely delicious I haven't found anything that wasn't perfect. the waitress was absolutely delightful she was happy to be there very attentive five stars. it's pretty amazing to watch the airplanes .

Great location with a awesome airport runway view. Great fly in restaurant. Park the plane right in front of it.
Let’s start with the food was excellent, average to high price for breakfast. I do recommend.
Now as far as service goes it was terrible. Got sat down quick, but waited a while to even get coffee than another awhile to get the order in, unless we asked for coffee refills they would not come around topping it off. Than we had to ask about the status of our food order. It was a 1:15 min from when we sat down to get our food. If you like airplanes this is a great place to go.

Parking: Located at the actual airport, runway side. So cool
