Taco King is our new favorite Mexican restaurant in SLO. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is incredible. They have great vegan and gluten free options, and they are knowledgeable in their ingredients and helpful on how to order for dietary restrictions. The ambience is warm and inviting. We drove by this place for years, not realizing what a hidden gem it was. Can't recommend it enough! They have a fresh salsa bar as well. 10/10 would recommend!

The food was good. The waiter was a little pushy, $3 for a side of sour cream? $50 with tip for two people drinking water.

Maybe we caught them on a bad day. The chips and salsa were served quickly, although the salsa wasn't anything special. The problem was, we ordered drinks, and they served my wife and my beers fairly quickly, but our companions margaritas didn't arrive until I mentioned it to the manager who explained they were very busy. Unfortunately there was only 5 tables of people, and I watched him go grab someone to make them immediately. So I have a problem with restaurants who don't own their mistakes, and not only do they make excuses, but there was no apology. Now that would have been okay, except we all ordered, and, again, my wife and my food came out, and 15 minutes later, I went looking for the manager, who was in the kitchen, to find out what happened to our friends (from out of town) food. This time, I at least got an apology, but, quite frankly, it was half hearted at best. The only redeeming aspect of this whole experience was our friends picked the spot. So bottom line is the food is okay but doesn't merit the price given the service.

If you are looking for Mexican restaurant ambiance then this is the place. If you are looking for delicious Mexican food, then I would recommend going somewhere else. The food is not seasoned well. I've had their albondigas, tacos, burritos and enchiladas and wine based Margarita and it's always been okay at best.Their salsa bar is delicious. The place is always packed which is more a testament to the eating habits of SLO residents who seem to love bland food. Overrated and slightly overpriced.

The food is amazing and Juanita is such a sweetheart. Thank you for your great service and food!
Stopped here for the first time because I was craving albondigas soup and a few carne asada tacos- Upon entering I was surprised with the beautiful brightness of color and decorative interior! I made a good decision because the food was really delicious! The Albondigas soup had really good flavor in the broth and instead of a few large meatballs that you usually find in the soup this one had about eight smaller meatballs which I enjoyed as they were quite good. The vegetables were cut small, I do wish that there had been more. The carne asada tacos were pretty tasty and had lots of tender meat- Our server was friendly and that's always a nice touch! I will definitely be back-
