I'm sad to hear Vegetable Butcher is closing. I've eaten here 5-6 times in the past two years and every meal was tasty and unique! I thought it was a great take on a popular concept. My favorite thing ever was the beet-chocolate cake (I'm dairy + gluten free at the moment). Please send me the recipe at least?!?! I hope you can move to a new location in SLO. There is plenty of parking. I grew up in the Boston area and sometimes here I really have to be like "for real...these people..." When it's 65 and sunny and you can't park right in front, it'll be fine. Sigh

Was there last month and enjoyed items from their updated menu. Was so surprised when I went there today to find them closed for business. Another one bites the dust in downtown SLO.

Ambiance:4.5/5 Food: 4.5/5 My order: (As shown in pictures) Fundido and chicken Taco. I really liked the chicken taco. Chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy from the inside. Very well seasoned and good crunch along with nice taste of dry rub that they have used. Recommended item from the menu. It comes with hot n sweet sauce. Works well with the taco. Vegetarian Fundido is also recommended. Comes loaded with cheese and charcoal tortillas. Tastes good and texture of the dish is also good. Overall recommended for a nice and light dinner. Didn't try any drinks as I was driving.

Good food with lots of vegetarian and vegan options but really really slow service every time I have gone. They seem to have a ton of staff turnover. A nice wine list as well. No outdoor space so not dog friendly.

This was my second time here.. the first time I thought the food was bland, but the second time around I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed their chicken taco's. Definitely worth going to if you are looking for healthy and fresh food

So glad I stopped in here. I sat at the bar and ordered the quinoa bowl with chicken. It was fantastic! Big portion and so fresh. I also had a couple glasses of wine. If I lived here I would go back all the time. Service was great as well. If I ever get to go back I want to try one of their tacos in a bowl version. Do yourself a favor and try this place!

My husband and I thought this would be a plant based restaurant from the name. We found a primarily mainstream menu with limited vegan options. The flavors are good but the portions are small. I gave away my chocolate/beet cake but I ate the beautiful flowers. Drinks were yummy but pricey. We won't be fighting to go back but for the omnivore eaters who are looking to impress someone, you'll likely enjoy it.

They never disappoint! Went for a team lunch on Wednesday and had the enchilada with Manchego cheese - it was soooo good and the perfect portion for lunch. I highly recommend it! We arrived at 11 AM before the rush of people and received great service-as always! We were still hungry after lunch so we ordered the cauliflower which is a personal fave. I also love the vegetable shishito frito - omg - so, so good! I highly recommend this place. Make a reservation as you never know what Cal Poly event is happening causing the restaurants to be packed!

Wonderful ambience and service. The food is remarkably flavorful. They are very attentive to dietary restrictions. Definitely a gem in SLO.

Innovative, creative, beautiful, and absolutely delicious dishes! So many of vegan dishes it was hard to choose just one. Our waiter, Ryan, was top notch. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
