This has some of the best burgers and onion rings in San Marcos. They also have a delicious gyro sandwich or salad if carb intake is a consideration. We never eat inside, it's always drive through pick-up. I was really surprised at the price increase, however, that is par for the course; that being said the portions are large so you won't be left hungry.

We were out and about running errands today and stopped by George Burgers for lunch (before anyone got hangry..lol). My wife got a mushroom burger and added avocado and loved it. She also got some of their famous onion rings which we shared and they were the same as always....so tasty and delicious! I had a double cheeseburger and it was huge, hot, juicy and required many napkins to clean up my fingers and face. We also split some fries which were also very good, not thin shoestrings but the thicker ones that I like very much. In the past we've used the drive-through and ate on the road. This time we went into the dining area which was bright and inviting and had a beach SoCal theme. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. The counter staff and the person who delivered the food were very nice and were able to answer any questions we had. Been coming here for several years and will continue to come back to this excellent burger joint!

First time here. Great service. Delicious food. Clean place. A good burger joint is hard to find these days and I found one!

The value is great. The cheeseburger combo is $1.50 cheaper than a McDonald's combo, but way better burger and a lot more fries. It's $2 more than an In-N-Out combo, but you get more food. They do need to clean their tables more often. It was hard to find a clean table. I would still go back, it's a good place.

Don't go by old photos and reviews for George burgers, it's not like that anymore. Sad to say the quality and value is absolutely gone now. I grew up eating here but that's over now. It's all about cutting corners and getting talked down to if you ask about it, the employees are definitely on the defense. Move on, it's just a good memory now.

Chicken strips, cheeseburger, fries and onion rings were all DELICIOUS! Service was fast and our food was in front of us within five minutes, and all super fresh and HOT. The fries were perfect IMO, and so were the chicken strips. The restaurant was also very empty. Great place for

This is an update to my previous review from 4 months prior. This time we went inside. The prior review was based on our drive-thru experience. I will start with a positive. We stopped in to eat in the resturant having had a busy day in San Diego around 5:30 pm. There are plenty of tables inside and out. They were all clean. We gather they have a larger lunch crowd, probably due to the industrial parks near by. The dinner crowd was pretty light, although fairly steady. We placed our order. I ordered a Greek salad with gyro meat, with extra onions and tomatoes, and "Greek" salad dressing. My husband ordered a gyro plate with onion rings instead of fries. We also ordered a side of Zucchini fries. We both got their fresh brewed iced tea. Here is where the negative starts. The salad started off looking good. Fresh Romain lettuce, really red tomatoes, plenty of Kalamata olives, perfectly thinly sliced red onions and a generous cut up gyro meat. And NO Feta!!! I was delighted until I realized there was no feta and their version of a Greek dressing was a weak tzatziki sauce that wasn't made well. I asked if the tzatziki sauce is what they meant as Greek dressing. Yes, was the answer. I asked if they had lemons, for both my iced tea and the salad. No was the answer!!!! Finally I asked if they had feta? NO!!! What??? No feta ???? No lemons ???? Did they have olive oil? No!!!! What I was hoping for was some olive oil, lemon juice and with some pepper, and I would make an acceptable "Greek" dressing in a pinch. The salad looked almost perfect, but what is a salad without an appropriate complement of a dressing suitable for a Greek salad or feta ??? Or fresh lemons for the fresh brewed iced tea??? Zucchini fries were a generous size, perfect to share with several people. And they were very good (another positive), served with Ranch dressing. My husband gyro plate was not what we imagined it to look like. The sliced gyro meat (the meat was stacked, skewered, and roasted rotisserie style before being sliced paper thin) was piled on top of the onion rings. With the bright red tomatoes and thinly sliced raw ted onions rings topping the whole thing, with a side of the very weak tasting tzatziki sauce. The pita bread was just 4 small squares. Most of the right ingredient's but lousy tzatziki sauce and a big dump of food of what should been a plate. Hmmmm! Again (I know I'm repeating myself), most of the right ingredients, horrible presentation and missing the boat of what constitutes a Greek plate or salad. I looked up the owners name. George A. Papoutsis, which is a very Greek name. So why not a better tzatziki sauce, a reasonable Greek salad dressing, and for goodness sake, real lemons & feta???? What happened??? Has he not checked in with who is doing the ordering of the food supplies? Hmmm !!!!! At this point any Greek worth his salt would screaming! The staff were friendly, but indifferent. So, for the lack of meeting their potencial, for the indifference (or dare I say ignorance) on what should make moderately good Greek salad and Greek gyro plate and the unforgivable "no feta" or lemons, I gave 3 stars to this review. These errors really affect the taste experience, we both were very disappointed.
