I rarely give negative feedbacks but this one was well deserved. First off, I wish I took consideration 1 star reviews because they were accurate!I had a to-go lunch. The sashimi was the worst I have ever had. And the crunchy roll was fake. The salad: greens were brown!I had cheap sushi before but this was just a joke. And guess what? We didn’t have soy sauce with 2 to-go lunches! Congratulations.

Eating sushi here was an exceptional experience! The restaurant had a fantastic selection of rolls and specialties. The salmon, yellowtail, and tuna hand rolls were especially amazing, each bursting with flavor and freshness. It was definitely a memorable dining experience. The service by Matilda, was amazing and the chef was fast and amazing.

Our order was to go. Golden dragon and red dragon. The portions were small and the roll didn't taste good.Never again for us.

Great presentation on the boards, fish was sweet and on point, the wrapping could’ve been a little tighter. Attentive and funny staff.Atmosphere was open. There was some half booth seating available, no bar seats unlike a traditional sushi restaurant but the rest of the tables were open but no true booth seating.

We frequent the Hooked On Sushi in Carlsbad often. This location is a fast/casual type of restaurant. Food was of the same quality as with speed of service. However the price point was the same which does not reflect the quality of service you receive nor the atmosphere. For the money, the xarlsbad location is where its at. It also shares a parking lot with a chick-filet and In-and-out. What a nightmare!Wheelchair accessibility: No problems with wheelchair accessibility.

We use to love this location because the service use to be great but something has changed. They now always mess up our orders and are rued about it. Our last order they forgot to give us a bag and we had to go back and then they charged us for sauces and didn’t even give them to us. We won’t be coming back again. It’s just really sad because we really love the sushi and they were our favorite restaurant. They just don’t care anymore.

I recently dined at Hooked on Sushi in San Marcos, and I must say the experience was fantastic! The awesome roll selection left me spoiled for choice, each roll bursting with fresh and delicious flavors. The lunch specials are a steal, offering a perfect balance of variety and value.A special shout-out to Andrea for her exceptional service. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience. I took her recommendation and tried the Yo-Yo roll - a brilliant suggestion! The combination of ingredients was a symphony of taste. Hooked on Sushi is definitely a go-to spot, and I'll be back for more sushi delights.

This was my first real dinner after giving birth. We had it DoorDash to the hospital and I enjoyed my Chirashi bowl... with raw fish for the first time in 9 months. It tasted so good. We normally go to the Carlsbad one when we lived in Carlsbad. Glad they opened up a location in SM. I get the chirashj bowl, they have a pretty good one with plenty different fish. It's a great deal too.

Placed a takeout order tonight and they got it mostly wrong. I ordered a soup they charged me for soup but there was no soup in the bag when I got home. This place is usually good but tonight it was awful. The salad was wilted and old, just not up to normal standards. Doubt we will come back to this place again.

To go took 20 min longer than they said they would. Staff was not very helpful.

Unfortunately today was a total disappointment!!!! Took more than double the time they told me for takeout--so I was sitting and waiting for way too long, watching a whole crew of chefs stand around joking and not in any rush. not to mention the woman packing my order texting on her phone the whole time behind the counter--gross! Clearly she has no idea how dirty that thing is as she's man handling my food. Took order home and it was also wrong--no patience to go back! Ugh-so sad.

Whoa whoa whoa!!! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted like a pro!! Love the customer service here. What else?! The food!!!Never thought the RAMEN will meet my standards! Im critical with my ramen. For a sushi place, this place sure makes great ramen. That chashu pork. My goodness! So big and savory. Probably one of the best I have had for sure. The portion size is huge! I am overwhelmed with what my lady got. The bento is huge. We had no choice but to take most of them home. Overall, this place is a gem. I have compared the rest and this place won me over. Thank you for such an amazing food and customer service. I will be coming back again when we are out here for Winco groceries lol.Definitely Hooked on Sushi. Shout out to the best servers!! Adriann and Johanna!

It's 3am and I'm realizing I'm going to be in for a round of "Tag" with my toilet for the next few hours. ?The biggest issue with this place seems to be poor management.* The hostess was about as sharp as a doorknob. I'm not sure what function she served since she basically told us to seat ourselves. Didn't see her helping to-go food or bussing tables when there wasn't anybody at the door waiting... and she looked at me like I was insane when I asked for a second glass for my wife & I to share a beer (since our server only brought 1 even though we told her we were sharing).* The restaurant is about average sized for fast casual these days... about 42 seats (among a dozen or so 2-tops & 4-tops). There only seemed to be one actual server on the floor - and another woman who was kinda double-dutying serving, expo & to-gos. This was a Friday night, so maybe someone called out, but one additional employee would have made a world of difference.* Probably why I'm sitting on the pot as I type this... sanitation. 1) The area where the cooks put the food up is very close to a service cart containing dining room & to-go supplies. Everybody's sorta got their hands on everything and I didn't see a whole lot of hand washing going on. 2) More specifically, our server was also bussing tables into a service cart with tubs on it - handling used/dirty dishes and then immediately picking up food ready for the dining room - again, no hand washing in-between.* Food took quite a while to come out... appetizers about 15+ minutes and dinner (mostly sushi) another 20+ minutes after that. For a small restaurant - and sushi restaurant at that - seemed pretty slow. When our food finally did come out, we were missing a roll and an order of nigiri. We waited a little bit before reminding the expo/server lady who assured us it would be right out. Took another 15+ minutes to get those last two items. (No apology, no acknowledgement from a manager, no adjustment to the bill.)* Food quality was average. Portions were actually decent sized and the menu had a good selection of rolls (that sounded good), but after we got them... they were just kinda "Meh". Even w spectacular service, the quality is a bit sub-par for what they're charging. (We were a family of 4 - about $204 before tip.)* Atmosphere is more generic and almost a fast- casual vibe. Despite the unsanitary food handling, the dining room has a contemporary look and appeared otherwise clean. Nothing that screams "sushi restaurant" (other than several monitors rotating different pictures of menu items)... but nothing Japanese themed, really.Overall, doubt I'll ever return to this place.Parking: Huge lot - but you have to fight the giant Chil-Fil-A and In-n-Out drive thru lines to park anywhere close.
