Shores Bar + Kitchen

This place was a pleasantly surprise, I've been looking for good fish and chips in north county for a while, I saw this place and decided to try it, the fish and chips were EXCELLENT FRESH AND HOT....THE FRIES WERE WILD, APPLE SLAW WAS A FRESH TWIST.....I would've given 5 stars if the tarter sauce was sweeter and tart...and it was to dark...but nevertheless, I will return 😋

Do not waste your time!!
I came in to have a simple dinner and watch the football game. Service at first was normal. I ordered food. Wait time average. Food was sub par. Food served was a plain frozen patty with zero taste. Server Paul asked how my meal was and I said fries are good hamburger was not so good. I got a smile and a comment of that’s great by Paul then he turned around and walked away. I asked for my check and was surprised to see I was still charged for the meal I took 1 bite of. Terrible food and service. I do not recommend and would never go back!

Really good service. Bartender (George?) was on top of things. Their smash burger was outstanding and the fries were delicious. I'll be back.

Stopped in for a drink and a quick bite. The wife had the Ahi Poke while I had the grilled Turkey sandwich. Bothe were excellent. And the french fries - probably the best I've had. Crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and seasoned perfectly. We will be back.

As a San Marcos local for almost 20 years I’m very upset I haven’t gone over here sooner. This place had been in my radar for many years, but it wasn’t until I saw this bar on Bar Rescue that I decided to go. Went in today around 12ish and The menu was fantastic cocktails were strong and prices weren’t even that bad. $13 for a strong Aviation!!!!! Sign me up. Service was fast and server was super personable. Completely forgot her name but she was great. The double smash burger is a must. Those fries were amazing as well. Super cute theme and bar in general. Will definitely be back.

Asides from the slight odor of stale beer this place was great. As a late dinner option those place came through. Cod fish and chips and the cheeseburger were both delicious! Lots of tvs showing sports and the server/bartender was so nice and attentive.

Went for musical bingo Wednesday. The place is very small and extremely, I mean extremely LOUD. I couldn’t hear myself think. Whew and that was before bingo started. Atmosphere is unappealing, needs better seating, lights, decor. But I’m guessing it’s really mainly a bar and if that’s what it is—I guess it’s good for those who want to drink and watch a game there’s a row of TV’s across the bar.
Our servers were great and the French Fries were delicious. You get a giant plate bowl (kinda like a large salad or pasta dish). Fries are thick and long—like they fresh cut them. Ranch dressing is delish. They have an outside patio which might be better, it seemed to gain a larger crowd at 9pm. Not sure what that was about. Anyway, try it, you might like it.

Came in on Saturday for a buddies 21st, bartender with the tattoos was set on the fact that all three of my government ids were fake (including my military id) I’m about to be 23. He was super rude and the entire establishment has weird vibes. Would not recommend.

Super dive bar feeling,which is normally all good but Wierd smell as you walk in. Seems very run down for being on an episode of bar rescue. Definitely will not be back here.

Randomly decided to try out the revamped place. Great beer selection, atmosphere (kid and dog friendly), great service for lunch on a Saturday. We had the Cobb salad with the Cardiff crack, and grilled turkey sandwich. Both very good. Kids food was great too. Specialty Polly’s Paloma was amazing

Shores is hands down the best bar and grill around! Pete, the owner, has created an amazing place with a welcoming vibe, and Paul is the bartender everyone needs in their life. Paul knows his drinks and adds a personal touch to every experience. Perfect spot for a casual night out, great food, and even better company!
