Excellent quality food, excellent service, comfortable seating. My bacon wrapped filet mignon was perfect. Along side garlic mashed potatoes with country gravy and a Guinness it was a perfect late lunch date with my wife!

First time here. Loved the retro vibe. Really enjoyed the drinks and food. We sat in the bar and had great service from the bartender. The game room and dining room looked super cute, too! It is a great place for all size groups, families, couples, or just a single person wanting to grab a bite to eat and a drink. Bar also had a great selection of games on their TVs. We will be back!

This, is the place! This is where you absolutely want to be with a large party of people.
If you have a party with up to 30 people, this is where you want to have it. Separate private room from main dining area with a banquet menu designed to please our budget. Separate and dedicated serving staff (ours was absolutely the best). Perfectly curated menu items, designed just for us, to satisfy all palates and all appetites. Drinks were satisfying and handled separately but perfectly. Even if you don’t have a huge party, this place has some of the best tri-tip, delicious pasta dishes and perfectly done salmon. Careful with the burgers though, you may think it’s for the smaller mouths, but two adults split one, they are size-able and cooked to perfection. Last Friday, everyone in our group of 29 had only great things to say about the restaurant and the food. We will be back to Vista and we will eat here again. Kudos to the staff and Nick (owner) for taking care of us.

The food wasn't great. I was expecting a Claim Jumper like experience but the food was just OK. Ordered rare tri tip and got a medium cooked steak. The bread was ok'ish. Hard to say way other then not what it was expecting from this restaurant. The staff was great and they filled our drinks and brought put our food quickly. It was Fathers day and they sat us quickly.
I surprised mom with an outing to The Mining Company Steakhouse and Saloon in San Marcos. Driving by numerous times and smelling the aroma was too much one day and we had to stop in. No regrets!
I ordered a steak of course because this carnivore knows good food when she smells it! Mom went a little more simple with the all-you-can-eat salad bar option. The steak was delicious and prepared perfectly to medium as I requested. The house salad that came with it was delicious, but I could see it was a small comparison to that super duper salad bar mom selected. That bar has the usual lettuce and toppings any other salad bar would have, but they also have hard boiled eggs, broccoli, grilled corn, diced ham cubes, cottage cheese, fruit section, diced pineapple for that cottage cheese, and so much more. There is every dressing you could hope to choose from and the salad bar runs the length of a long wall. Pick up a plate and get started. So much to choose from you could make a meal out of that alone and leave stuffed!
Management has the good graces of Karla (with a K) who served us. She made sure we understood our options and was attentive without being overbearing. There when we needed her and gave us our space as well. Perfect blend of attention and eating in peace. The decor is cute all around and they had a room to the side where a large party was taking place, but not disruptive at all. The layout was well planned. We will definitely be returning again and again. Give Karla a well deserved commendation, she certainly has earned it! Seriously, she is an asset to this establishment and a shining example of what good service looks like in action.
Vegetarian options: I did mention the salad bar. Also Fish and Chips and other seafood options. Not everyone has to order steak in a steakhouse.

Wheelchair accessibility: They accommodated us by removing a chair from table right near salad bar for my mother’s convenience.
